I've seen the Honda TV spots where they create a musical roadway. I figured it was completely a trick of television and didn't think much of it.
Then I read this:
KTLA News
October 17, 2008
LANCASTER -- The nation's first "musical road" is back on track after being silenced last month.
Workers are carving grooves on Lancaster's Avenue G that will produce notes of the William Tell Overture when cars drive over them.
That was backed up by a few other on line news reports, mostly fairly credible looking.
Apparently similiar roadways have been created in Japan and Asia. Lancaster's was the first in the US, but Honda has deals with 4 cities to modify their roadways into musical roads.
Really?
Has anyone been through Lancaster, CA avenue K or the industrial park that they've moved it too?
