Where do I start - phone call tonight from Gary's friend Jonathan telling us Gary has been killed on his bike this afternoon. This big man with a big heart leaves a hole in our life. All our sympathy to Carol and family.

Prayers & thoughts to all of our across the pond members involved from Iowa.

Especially family.

Yes - we are all in shock both here and across Europe - Gary was an early member of the VRCC not long out of the navy (23 years service incuding the Falklands conflict) big guy with a big love for life.
Nothing not to like about him, over the years grew into a strong friendship, we toured Europe together, I built some parts for his Valk, we got off our faces internationally.

BobbieValk has just phoned apparently Gary was riding off road with a mate on a couple of dirt bikes.
They were lost and turning in a lane when the landowner rushed up to warn them off - he lost control of the Land Rover he was driving, turned it over and crushed the pair. Gary was killed his mate has been seriously injured - farmer has been arrested - what a waste.
