i have a 2" on mine. you will have to remove the mounts that connect to the turn signal mounts. but takes a couple of seconds with a grinder. vtx and valk use the same mounting

Question, what happens if you have a windshield? Does it leave a big opening for air to get thru?

Just like Jim said give him a call. Darryl is a good guy to work with. My oppinion is the headlight extender was made to be used on a bike without a windshield, or a fairing.

I'd like to get one as it brings it out enough for me to be able to wipe things down that I can't normally get to without taking the windshield off. That's why I am asking if anyone has one on their Valk especially a Tourer and if so could they post a pic?

Well, just some follow-up on the Headlight Extension. I ended up ordering a 2" extension and as everyone said, Darryl is very helpful. Overall quality is spot on! A couple of things to remember though; 1. Handle with care as the plate is polished aluminum. 2. Since it adds about a 1/2" in height you need to readjust the windshield mounts. 3. Since this was designed for a VTX, the included bolts out front are too long and don’t look right so a quick trip to the hardware store is needed for a shorter SS bolts and fancy caps top it off properly. I inserted the new bolts from the bottom with the caps on top. The enclosed bolts can be used in the back. So I managed to drag out the installation from an hour to half a day! Was it worthwhile, you bet.

mount the headlight to the bottom of the plate rather than the top for no rise in height

This is Glen's 2" extension with a Memphis Shades Batwing fairing, VTX headlight and 6 degree raked forks on my 97 The webpage doesn't say anything about the raked triple-trees except about how it looks... It must affect the handling... how? What's better? What's worse? -Mike

Everyone I talked to before buying said it improvd the low speed handling and no affect on the rest. I totally agree after having it for a whole season and I can base that comparatively because I have an Interstate also. Every time I hop on the IS I find myself going wide the first few corners until I get my feel back. It was a great addition. I have also lowered the back with 11.5 inch progressives and that is the only other geometry change.

I actually have the headlight bolted to the bottom of the plate in the front, but either way it will affect the mounting some. The windshield mount is mounted on top of the extender and the headlight is attached to the bottom. Seems to work well as the angle of the shield is where it should be. Anyway, you are correct, there are different options.

i actually ended up using the longer bolts and 3/8" chrome spacers to lower mine to clear the memphis shades fairing. couldn't go any lower without hitting the harley light bar.
