I know that there is a glut of HDs on the market these days.
But I got one heck of a shock today; I stopped at "American Steel" in Livonia MI and they had all of there bikes reduced to fire sale prices. They had new Borgets, OCC, and Titans starting at 14K and most were at least 35% off retail. But they had a 2006 HD Dyna Superglide with 4200 miles on it for $6995.00. American Steel is a registered HD service facility and can do service as well as warranty work. They said that they would offer a one year unlimited warranty at no charge on the Dyna, as well as 0% interest for the first six months, as well as free storage untill May of 2011.

I'm not enamored with HDs, but I do like Dynas. This bike is a beautiful blue metallic color and all stock (no mods or trinkets whatsoever).

Someone is going to get a nice bike!

That's a 4 almost 5 year old Harley that went for around 10,500 new.

Not much of a deal unless it has lots of extras.

SuperGlides are the bottom of the barrel of Dynas.

I have to disagree with you AL.

I like Dynas for their manuverability. They are absolutley not Touring bikes, and they are not the "Poser" bikes the softail line is.

They handle and ride well and can be just as personalized as anything out there. But just a stock Dyna is a great all-round bike.

Of course I still prefer my Valks but lets say you could find a later model stock standard Valk with 4200 miles on it,.....how much would you expect to pay for it?

i don't disagree with you, it is a steal!!  it's just that you don't usually see "nice bike" and "harley" in the same paragraph very often!!   Grin

I got a bit turned around today looking for the intersection of M50 and M52. I saw a HD dealer (Tecumseh HD) on M50 and walked in to ask for directions and was told "just keep going west, you can't miss that intersection". I thanked the salesperson and just sorta looked looked at the array of their used bikes.

How about a 2006 Ultra Classic for $18,600, or a 2008 yellow/brown Fat Boy with some chrome farcels for $14,800. The salesperson said that they just lowered all the prices to move them out.

Good Luck,....in our current economy and being in MI, I think they are in never-never land.

Bought a 1998 Tourer with 2900 miles and I said 29 hundred,, not thousand,, for 7,200.oo dollars.

Valks can be had at a real good deal as well.

A buddy bought a Interstate for 5 thousand dollars. Nice bike too.

Another a Tourer with 24,000 for 4,500.

MOMZ

That Harley is marked down a bit.

Here is what a real clean bike of that model should go for.

Home>Motorcycle Values>Motorcycle>2006>Harley-Davidson>FXDI Dyna Super Glide2006 Harley-Davidson FXDI Dyna Super Glide Value Email  November 4, 2010
2-Cylinders
4-Stroke
1450cc
Suggested Retail Value $9125 The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the unit has been fully reconditioned and is in excellent condition. Mileage/condition and additional equipment may have a substantial impact on the value shown above. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the unit's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions

My Boss bought a 2009 Ultra for 16,500 the other day.

He did some searching to find this deal on a Harley that has the new 200 mm rear tire and 6

gallon gas tank.

Of course him being my Boss and all,,,,,,,,, he paid cash.
