1. Who declared Christianity a religion?  I believe Christianity to be a lifestyle. Jesus himself never taught religion, He taught that you needed a personal relationship with him and the Father.

2. Assume for a min that Christianity is a religion, Where is the headquarters? Who is in charge? How can I send them a letter?

3. I will agree that there are many religions that practice their own beliefs of what the Christian lifestyle means to them. Among them Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist, Pentecostal, and so on. Muslims believe the same way, Budists believe the same way, Atheists believe the same way, and so on. Why cant those who claim to be Christian believe the same way? How is it that all of these different religions can be grouped together with all of their very different beliefs? All of them can not be right!

That is enough for now. I look forward to the replies.

Mike I started this debate as a youngster with my Jehovah's Witness mother.  I think Christians will agree that Christianity it is not a religion, it is simply a way to describe a belief system which is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ which were written down in the New Testament.

Religions are simply a manifestation of a person or a group of people who feel that theirs is the correct interpretation of those teachings.  Even though I am a staunch conservative, I have serious problems with religion.  They all believe that their beliefs are divinely inspired, to the extent that some will refuse to let their children have a blood transfusion in order to save their child's life.  I could continue this diatribe for hours...but I won't bore everyone with that.

Actually and you know this already.

Jesus reveals himself to a human being through God's Holy Spirit as God allows his spirit to move.

They are one and yet they work almost as seperate entities.

First followers of Christ were his chosen people.

Yes this is his breathren the Jewish People.

Then as Saul preached as Paul to the Gentiles, me , we, were brought into the fold due to

rejection of this doctrine by The Majority,, but not all,, of the Jewish People.

This was also fortold in the Bible.

He made a way for us all in his Son.

The First Believers were called and known as People of the Way.

The Way being through Jesus.

That is simple and man has muddied the waters.

Jesus said " I will build my Church".

Man is taken out of the way with this saying.

All we are to do is stand ready to follow the master as he leads.

I would rather be riding my Valkyrie, thinking and praising God for my life, family, and all the good that has come my way.
Rather than sitting in a church thinking about riding my Valkyrie.

I thank God everytime I get a chance to ride. Motorcycles are inanamate objects, but they are better than drugs, booze, gambling, and numerous other vices. Motorcycles make me think about my own mortality, but life has no garantees, so I thank God that I am alive, wether I'm cold, wet, hot, or especially on the great roads on those perfect days.

Christianity is how you live your life, not what you are. And I am just me,....an imperfect mortal.

I really kind of feel sorry for the Atheists, the Buddists, the Muslims,..etc..etc..etc....they are all going to hell.   Only one way into heaven and that is through Jesus Christ

Just my opinion, but I think a LOT of people let their religion get between them and God. They
are probably not aware of it, but it happens. Church becomes more of a chore, something you
have to do, than a blessing. If all Christian denominations let go of their denominational rules
and regulations and united as the "Christian Church of the World" or something, this world
would be a very different and much better place!! Different churches are not, in and of themselves,
necessarily a bad thing, but they spend so much time arguing their differences, Bap-Pres..Met-Lut
etc, that they mostly lose sight of God and His Word. That's my big knock against religions and
denominations. Why can't they just teach the Bible, live the life, and get along?(IMHO, YMMV, etc.)
