Wow, what a coincidence - buddy of mine just bought an ST1300, and hasn't even gotten it home yet - it's at his sister's in Ft. Wayne. Now I have to let him ride mine, and see how he likes it...

Mine, you say? Finished MINE today!! Haven't test-driven it yet, will in the morning. But, looks like it belongs there...

Thanks for the pic - just sent it to him!

That's a General Tire Altimax HP, 205/60-R16. Here's a link to some reviews, and others have used them here on the forum. You can do a search, and see what they think:

With the angle of lean an ST is capable of I would guess the owner doesn't scrape pegs very much.

OR maybe he was on a long road trip and wanted a longer lasting tire?

I ran a Cooper on my Valkyrie when I rode to the Candain Rockies via Sturgis.

Interesting that several of the reviews mention weak sidewalls. The reason I'm not on a dark side tire now is that the tire mounting machine punched a hole thorough the sidewall of the Altimax I bought. The guy had mounted a several darkside tires for me and never had a problem till then. It was a week before my last bike trip and I had waited a month on the Altimax so I had him order an Avon since he knew he could get it in two days.
