At least he'll have a new clutch. One of the guys I ride with changes his own oil. Never needed a drain gasket, Never knew the bike had a drain bolt. Takes off the filter, STARTS(!!) the bike and runs it till the oil quits coming out then refilters and adds oil. We helped him. He's ok now, and the bike thanks us.

I feel sorry for the shop that does his clutch for him. He will bring it back after the first oil change for "defective" work.

Hate to say it, however over the years I've treated a couple of Goldwings to Slick 50 with out any problems. Must admit the 1st one I thought after I put it in but after a few thousand miles I quit worrying about it. I would not recommend it in any powerful bike though.

Alright, I did this when I was about ten….. My father says to me; make sure you check the oil on the lawn mower before you cut the grass….. So I did, and it was low. I proceeded to take the cover off the air filter and added a full quart of oil. I was able to get about a half a pull on the rope until she “froze” up. I later found out that the oil doesn’t go there…… Like I said, I was about ten……

My younger dumber brother (a few years ago) bought his first car... I was married and out of the house for this one...but I did get a phone call... See chuckle head (I can name call him that bc he is my stupid kid brother) changed the oil filter and then added 5 additional quarts of oil. Dad made the call to me saying how come you (ME) did not tell him what to do....I said you taught me when I was 12...you let him play with toys....so you Dad are taking the blame on this one...and I said Mom taught him to read....He never pulled the drain plug or the dip stick... All of those that say you can not fix stupid?? You can, but it is a serious amount of effort.

What a shame, did you tell him WHY to not put the Slick50 in? At least he knows now, and it's an inexpensive fix compared adding sand to the oil I do know of one young lady many years ago who was low on oil in her car to the point where the oil light was on. She called me after the light stayed on after adding 2-1/2 qts and the dipstick reading hadn't changed. I told her to add another one. Got another call..................if I add more green liquid bubbles out. Sigh, seems her 350 Nova's radiator was at least a quart or two low, also. I drained & replaced the coolant & added oil and she drove the car for another year or two without incident.
