My take on the whole thing!

WTF people, where was, YOUR OUTRAGE, when we sent thousands of young American Boys to their death to fight terrorism! Shame on you all for your misguided sense of whats right and whats wrong! Heaven forbid that anyone inconvenience you in the fight to save YOUR life.

Besides, the radiation issue is false logic.

If you are really worried about the radiation then do not get in a plane to start with because...

The radiation coming from the new TSA body scanners is equivalent to about three minutes' worth of air travel by anybody, at 30,000 feet.

TSA's new full-body scanners expose people to 2.4 micro-rems of radiation per scan. That's just a fraction of the radiation people encounter during air travel. For instance from New York to Paris equals 35000 micro-rems.

Comparing the statistical likelihood of getting hijacked and getting cancer is a very poor reasoning at best.

Lets all think about it for a second. If one terrorist group is deterred from YOUR flight, by this technology, then it is worth the equivalent of the radiation dose that you will get while in the air for 3 minutes.

Additionally, have you seen the best images that thing puts out? Are you really worried about that image? Lets face it, you may be on your way to a vacation spot where women wear bikinis, or maybe even a thong ; ) and the men wear shorts that when wet cling tightly enough to let everyone know what you may or may not be packing. So get over it everyone. You all have an oversize sense of modesty that, simultaneously allows you to parade around in a public space with nearly no clothes on, of your own free will, and then whine about a faceless computer image that might possibly be misused! Oh my, who at the TSA do you think really cares enough about your picture to risk their job by sharing your grainy full body scan with the world.

You folks are a pack of whiny craps standing in the way of something that might actually save some lives.

Also, if you are all worried about illegal search and seizure then do not be dumb enough to try to do something illegal for a few minutes of your life.

PS Sorry for the rant, but if you are a whiner you deserve it!

Rant away, but let those of us who are more worried about an overreaching government rant against that also. Constitutional study shows that our laws place restrictions on our government, not give it more rights.
The blatant LIES about the images not being saved or recorded has been proven on many instances. Would I allow my 5 year old grandson to have his 'private' parts manhandled by someone he doesn't know? Absolutely not. I hope those folks who think this is not worth getting upset over end up moving to another country where they government can control every aspect of their lives rather than change our government into one like that. Have you even SEEN the images available? Pretty clear and open IMO.

If you follow the money you will find out why the government is pushing these scanners.  George Soros and other "friends" of "president" Obama are making a killing on these machines.  Yes they can "see" any hidden devices a person may be hiding on their person but thats not what the threat is lately....

First, the terrorists are using carge as the prime target

Second theres the whole rest of the world to board a plane headed for the US where these scanners are not used.

Bottom line its a bunch of wasted money.  I dont really care if I go through the scanner........I dont mind if someone sees a blurry image of all my "junk"  WHO CARES....what I do care is that the government is spending a bunch of money that is suppsoed to be creating jobs to create a false sense of security.

So, our government doesnt really care about safety, they care about controlling our lives and making lots of money for their friends

How about facing the problem correctly and inconveniencing the real problem? This policatically correct crap of not "profiling" makes our lives miserable for all the wrong reasons. Screw them all, 'cause I now drive wherever I can.

Federally mandated groping is just that. If anyone but a TSA nitwit did that they could easily be brought up on charges. Sorry, but if you think this makes you safer, you're clearly not paying attention. The actual photos the scanners are capable of have not been seen on tv. The pictures you're shown are highly pixelated. The actual pictures are crystal clear. They can even switch to a full color mode and count every hair on your... you get the picture right.

Follow the money.....it leads to evil men, doing evil things for their own gain in the facade of safety. The terrorists are laughing their butts off at the stupidity of the Americans.

Lets just hope these thieves won't top Haliburton/KBR's 21 billion in no bid contracts from the last bunch of crooks.

He is already paying Halliburton through no bid contracts because they are the best for the job. He just makes sure there is graft for a Dem first. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/01/25/obama-administration-steers-lucrative-bid-contract-afghan-work-dem-donor/
Its real simple, there is no other company that the Govt. can call on Monday and expect the job to get started on Tuesday and actually get finished.
KBR and Halliburton are the same company and they are the ONLY one with the resources to do the job.

If you are building one house, you can call the local carpenter. Hopefully he will show up and do the job as near right as possible. If you are building 100 houses that need to be done in 3 months, Bobs Mobile Hammer isnt one of the guys o the list of contractors. When you have to build those 100 buildings in some bumfuk country, there is ONLY one contractor that can do the job and they have built their entire buisness doing it through a whole lot more presidents than Bush (Pretty sure I read the Clinton spent more with them even though there was no war during his term, just more depolyments that at any other time in our history.)

Don't you watch Glenn Beck? Sorros at one time owned 12000 shares of OSIS. At between 18 to 35 bucks a share he must a made a couple of hundred grand at the most. But just remember, it coulda have been millions. Also thanks to Glenn, we now know that Sorros was a Nazi.

It's not the radiation. It's the inability of TSA to responsibly and professionally carry out the procedures called for when someone is taken out of line for a pat down. Then the fun begins. And you said it yourself, "our free will", as in our choice of where and when to have our nuggets displayed.
You are ill-informed at best. Go back to bed, or whatever you were doing...You're making the rest of the species look bad..

I've not been on an airplane since coming back from Desert Storm and have no
plans to get on one anytime soon, so my opinion is just from a "rights" point
of view. I don't believe the scanners or pat downs will keep us one bit safer.
I say it's only a matter of time before "nude" scanner pictures are available online
for those who know how to find and want to see them. I believe it would be a GREAT
job for a homosexual to pick people out of a line and pat them down, since
men check men and women check women. I assume there is/will be an age limit
on who gets patted down? Wouldn't do for a pedophile to wear a TSA uniform, now
would it? This whole thing just SCREAMS to be abused in some way. When one of the
above happens and there's a big settlement, guess who ultimately pays for it? Us!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The biggest problem with this is in the "random" use of these measures.  When they obviously pick a hot chick to "see" naked and that means for an hour no one else can be "randomly selected" thats a problem.

When little white grandmas are randomly selected and that means a few young middleeastern looking guys cannot be "randomly" selected......thats a huge problem.

We are so paralyzed in this country by bleeding heart libs that have demanded everyone be so politically correct that we cant target the people that have more likely hood of being a threat because OMG its racial profiling, that right there is a bigger threat than not using the body scanners at all

If it were me making the rules, there would be a paperwork screener first...Way before you get near the gate........not a US citizen, then you get a background check and a body scan/patdown before you get near lots of people.  Think thats harsh...........nope!  Traveling through France as US Military, that very thing happened to us..........not a French citizen, had good passports, but still pulled aside and background checked, detailed inspections and hour delay.  We werent even upset, because hey! they were doing a job and doing it well

Then at the gate let TSA observe folks (they were trained to do this) if they observe some with that terrorist look then scan them too.......

Then on top of that if they want to target every tenth person regardless of who they are thats ok with me, but not when thats ALL they are doing

Last but not least, these TSA agents dont seem to ALL be good at what they do............weed them out if they refuse to act professional or arent able to, Ive seen plenty of airport (TSA) security people obviously too hung up on power and crontrol to act calmly and professionally

I thought BIG A was the only bag of hot air on here. I was wrong.

TSA is a joke. All you got to do is lock up the rooster pit and never allow an airplane to be taken over again. It is as simple as that. The rest of us in the back of the plane are on our own. Worst case scenario 300-400 of us go down in flames. Big deal compared to the money and loss of freedom this is costing us.

Here is a link to what Israel does. Have you ever heard of Israel losing a plane. Most of you guys probably can't read so I will tell you the answer. NO.

The Israeli method is much better than ours.  To save millions of wasted dollars and widespread irritation, I say we hire the Israelis to run all our airline security.  It will be much better security, and cost way less.

Please provide some sort of citation for the garbage you have posted.  Particularly how George Soros is "making millions".  You need help, son.

I'm sorry, didn't see "making millions" in the original qoute. how ever I thought it was micheal chertoff that was behind the TSA scanners?
George Soros is too busy trying to collapse the american economy to worry about chump change like scanners  Grin
