One word for this spectacle,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,BORING.

Just like when Earnhardt Sr, was dominant,,,most people quit watching , thought the whole thing was rigged.

Johnson can drive but that don't mean I like him.

Kyle Busch is the only one out there with a full sack of well you know.

He gives no quarter and wins a lot of races.

I'll watch when he runs good and that is about it.

Stands don't look too full and I believe I know why.

Buncha Momma's Boys running in airconditioned suits with power steering.

If they went back to the old days, these guys would not even be allowed in the cars.

they would not be able to stand the heat or manual steering.

I couldn't agree with Big Al more. They keep blaming the failing spectator counts to the economy. They just can't seem to get it through their heads that they have taken something that was run by a bunch rednecks and turned it into basically like watching table tennis. They will never return to what it used to be (running convertables wearing tee shirts). Jimmy Johnson won (not my choice). It has become a large corp. thing, and just like everything else the one with deepest pockets wins, somehow.

I used to like it when Richard Petty won by two laps.  We would all camp out in the car in the infield at Daytona.  We even pulled up posts from around the track and burned them for heat one Feb.
The only thing that really is different among all the lookalike cars is the engine.  No room for innovation like Smokey Yunick would have done!!!!!

Have you ever noticed when they show a Nascar promo they don't show any film from the old days?  It's because it was so much better then, with multiple lead changes in a lap and much more interesting cars.  What killed motorsports is when it changed from a sport to a business.
