Saturday morning met up with Ian - Indian and Kevin - HD Rocker. The Rocker is one of the few modern Harleys I like the look of.

Rocker rubber

Late start around 10. I took the KLR. I'm close to needing a new front tire so want to squeeze the few remaining miles out of the tread. New tire is waiting in the garage for me to spoon on.
Headed north with a lunch destination in mind. I have ridden past this BBQ place dozens of time. It's near enough to home that I'm normally heading further north or heading home. This time the opportunity to be in the right place at the right time was compelling.
So we wingle wangled for about 60 miles taking some little known back roads. The Rocker was finding it tough in the twisties, expensive parts hitting the road surface.
Lunch was good. I would give Amos's 3 out of 5 stars. The non frozen fries were slightly undercooked and the beans were a tad sweet. The chopped pork was pretty good and the house hot BBQ sauce was HOT. Amos's is just east of the junction of Hwy 369 and Hwy 372

After lunch we headed home. The promised sunny skies were still hidden by clouds UNTIL we got back into the sprawl of metro Atlanta. About a 100 mile ride

Rose between 2 thorns

Sunday was a North Georgia Motorcycle Club ride
http://www.meetup.com/NGAMC1/20 riders showed up so we split into 2 groups. 9 cruisers and 11 others. I led the others and Paul Hinckley led the cruisers. Destination Little River Canyon in NE Alabama.

Uneventful ride apart from one section of rough paved road at the southern end of Little River Canyon. A downhill to uphill transition was so steep Tony scraped the front of his Spyder. I believe everyone else's suspension bottomed out....
About a 280 mile ride.
