Excellent!!! And, if you haven't done some of these, especially #12, you need to ride more!  I'm just thankful I don't have the proximity key fob he talks about that I think is on most new Harleys now.  Julie would get awfully tired of me asking her to bring me the fob...again.

I probably shouldn't even comment, but I will say that "Riding Techniques #9" only gives a general idea of mine, but vastly understates the scale of the stupidity.  I will also say that it was a good thing that it was done in years labeled B.V. (Before Valkyrie), when my ride was something nobody else wanted (apparently).

rumor has it that the harley proximity key fobs and the bmw proximity key fobs interfere with each other.  or maybe it's the bike's fob-sensor that interferes.  in any case, i have a friend with a beemer who was able to put his harley-riding friend out of commission, simply by parking nearby.  as soon as the beemer pulled away, the harley could start. 2funny

That's just the Harley guys excuse for why his bike wouldn't start.

I was sitting in a restaurant, minding my own business, enjoying my breakfast, when a gentleman walked up to me and asked "Is that your motorcycle outside?"  "Yes, it is."  "You left your lights on."

OOPS.  And that WAS my beloved Valkyrie.  I'm more careful with her now.

What about when you wake up in a motel, 500 miles from home, and can't find your keys.
Then you remember the last time you saw them was when you put them on the seat while you were taking your gloves off. The heart starts up again eventually.  cooldude

If you haven't heard it, remind me to tell you my about my incident with my new Valkyrie at school someday.

How about earlier today, when I someone I know had my his gear about 80% on, and remembered "Ride and Equipment Prep #1" from reading this list earlier in the week.  So I this someone I know stopped, pulled the gear off again, only to find out that I he had already removed the key from my his pocket, and put it in the ignition.

Gary, what was that about riding to make your mind sharper?
