Over on the Oklahoma Valkyrie Riders forum (http://forums.okvalks.com/index.php/board,1.0.html )we have started planning a trip to Robbers Cave in Eastern Oklahoma.  It's an historic area of the state and has some of the nicest topography in the area with really nice rides through wooded hills.
The tentative date for the trip is the third weekend in May. Arrival day is Friday the 20th, riding and exploring day is Saturday the 21st and departure for home on Sunday around "Brunch time".  We may change the dates, but the general structure of Friday to Sunday will remain constant.
We will use the State Park as "ground zero" so we can accommodate campers and "motel campers" both. That's all for now, I'll get a signup started as the time gets a little closer.
We'd love to see all our friends from other states there as well.  Watch this link for more information as it becomes available.

I really enjoyed previous trips to Robber's cave.  I'll try to be there this time, as well.

Howdy everybody!
I have spoken to Sheila, the nice lady at Robbers Cave State Park and she is preparing for an invasion of Dragons on the 20th of May 2011!
She still had the information from the last time we were there in 2008 and did not threaten to call the police on me, so I’m taking that as a sign we are welcome to visit again.  angel
The accommodation prices are as follows:
Cabins: None available for our dates of 20-23 May.
Double room: $97.58 for two adults and $10 extra for each additional adult.
RV sites with full hookups: $23.00
RV sites with electric: $20.00
Tent Camping: $12.00

That’s all for now, just wanted to let ya’ll know I’m working the trip.  As soon as I get a chance I’ll run over there and reconnoiter the area and post more as I know it.
I am running this thread on the Magna Owners of Texas forum as well to see if we can pull off a joint meet and greet.
This is gonna’ be GREAT!  Cool

Thanks Raymond.
I just called them and made sure all of the schedulers know we are coming in as a group.
They asked that we let them know we are with the “Valkyrie Riders” and they will attempt to get the rooms and camp sites in the same area.

Contact numbers for reservations are: 800 654 8240 then select “2” for Robbers Cave State Park then “1” for reservations.
The direct local number for Robbers Cave is: 918 465 2562

We will be camping and have selected an RV site with water and electric. (We camp with a bit of luxury!)  Cheesy

Motomama did you want to split a bunk bed with Dana in our room? Or are you sleeping with Winghot again?

They usually have plenty of camping space so I'll plan on bringing the toy-hauler.

This is looking like a really nice weekend setting up!
So far we have folks from Arkansas, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.
I will be going over there for a recon sortie right after the first of the year and will post more information as soon as I have it.  I know from the last visit the Oklahoma Valk Riders did there, we basically booked all the rooms in the lodge.  Let's see if we can fill them up again!
Have a Wonderful and Blessed Christmas and Happy and prosperous New Year!
This is gonna' be GREAT! cooldude

Call me crazy, but if I can find 36 other's to share a room with, that works out to $12.05 a person!! At that rate, I'm in!!

Kidding aside, I travel to Norman, OK for work occasionally. I come down 44, but since I've gotten the Valk, I wouldn't mind some good alternative recommendations of paths to travel. Is Robber's Cave, too far off that path?

Robbers Cave State Park is near Wilburton, about 115 miles south and east of Tulsa.  It's a nice ride if you choose the right route.
