Just finished the glass pack mod on my 99 tour. Sounds like a Valkyrie should sound. Pretty easy job as long as you have a welder, set of torches and a chop saw.
I just cut the front ends off a old set of glass packs and welded them where I cut the cans on the stock pipes then welded the glass packs to the ends. Pretty easy and I think I have $225 in the whole project. $160 for the stacks. $43 for the glass packs and and the rest in hard wear and high heat primer and paint.

Pics please!!
Did the GP exhaust to my '97 several years ago. Over 40K ago & still sounds great, kinda like a Ferrari or one of them other Eye-talian go fast cars. Grin
Spent a little less than you did by re-using the OE Honda shields & making my own tips.

YES - lots of pics !! A sound file would be icing on the cake - I'd be willing to bet several people would be interested in your efforts.

This is what I did, chopped off everything. Welded on a bell reducer, then threaded some straight pipe. Now I can weld my glass-pack to a threaded coupler and screw in the glasspacks at will. Quiet with the wife. deep and mean roar when Harley Hunting. I even have differant length truck stacks depending on how I want to dress her. Go to "Shop-Talk" if your interested in specific details and instructions. Good information that folks spent lot's of time compiling for you Wink

As lucky as I am my camera quit and I am not allowed to go buy a new one until after Christmas.
I read all the info on shop talk and there is quite a bit of it posted there. That is where I started and I just made a few different adjustments to suit my needs and my talents. As far as the sound goes it is a little louder and deeper than I thought it would be but I like it. I thought about installing the glass packs backwards for a louder sound but now I am glad I did not do it.
Tundra, I also like the system that you have on your bike and I am planning on making a set like that as soon as I can find a left side pipe that no one want and I can pick up for nothing, I have the right side. That system is really slick and the changes you can make are pretty much endless with the bell reducer and threaded coupler.
I still have a couple sets of stock pipes so if I want to quiet her up I will just install my stock interstate pipes.
I have learned a lesson since I have been on theses boards and that is PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES. I guess I could of waited until I had a new camera to do the mod but when the stacks showed up I could not wait to get started. You can bet that I will have pictures on my next project cooldude

Hey Tundra, is that Sleepy Hollow in the back ground of your last picture. It looks like it, I went down there today with some friends and had a great time.

Yup, Sleepy Hollow cooldude One of my favorite ride destinations, love the smell of the fire they always have burning out back in the pit. Always a fun time. I wish I would have seen you there. I have never seen another Valkyrie there, unless I brought them with me.
