My wife MaryAnn checked into the hospital last night for a two week stay.  It is a physical rehab hospital and they think they can teach her to walk again; they will also give her pain management and other classes to deal with her MS.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers; it would be a Christmas miracle if she could walk on her own out of the hospital instead of in a wheelchair.

Thoughts and prayers from the Wilsons. They thought my wife Denise had MS for years but finally said it was Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that she suffers from.  She has had very good results from eastern medicine and changing her diet. Good luck and a very Merry Christmas.

I must be losing my mind. I thought I had checked every new post and found nothing so I posted, then it was right there under my nose.

Chuck, if you need anything, give a shout.

She's a babe no matter what. Regardless of what cross you bear, you are the luckiest among us for you have found what true love is ... through health and sickness. Lots of folks are in it only for the 'good times'. I admire your strength and her courage.

Thanks everyone, I'll send this link to MaryAnn tonight so she can feel the love.  She was exhausted tonight when I visited, they had her pumping iron and doing 'walking' exercises all day; she was in high-spirits and looking forward to the improvements.

hubcapsc - Copaxone is for the relaxing/remitting forms of MS, MaryAnn has primary progressive MS.  There is no medicine available for PP MS, all the meds she takes just treats the symptoms.

I'd like to hear more about the eastern medicine that helped if you wouldn't mind PMing me the information.  We have tried diet and supplements with no improvement.

Houdini, Denise has been going to an acupunture clinic in Houston for about 18 mths and has had pretty good results from the treatments. Only drawback is ins. doesn't cover treatments or meds. (herbs & vitamins).
Our daughter also goes to the same doctor, she had two miscarriages and after several treatments she carrier a set of twins to almost full term. They weight in at 5lbs 15ozs. and 6lbs. This medicine has been arround forever, but  it is still strange to us westerners.  Hopes and prayers for you and your wife.

Mary is doing well; she is getting six hours a day of PT, everything from weight lifting to isometrics.  She was showing off her new triceps tonight, she's gonna be buff by time the fourteen days are up.  She is showing signs of improvement but walking out of the hospital on her own may be a stretch.
