The ammunition for this weapon contains a micro that uses encrypted data for security, sorta like a password. The cartridges communicate to the control micro in the weapon to confirm authentication and receive timing data. The encrypted password is usually done in the field just prior to deployment. If a weapon and ammunition are lost to an enemy, they will only be able to use what was set up, usually less than a dozen rounds. Even if they get more ammo, it won’t work since it hasn’t been matched to a weapon.
And, no… I didn’t learn this from Wikileaks!

I don't think it will make any difference. How do you defeat an enemy that is willing to live in caves and eat crap? You don't, they want it worse than you do.
We can take all our high tech stuff and go home.

If they were smart, they would stop all of their shanagans and wait for us to pack up and go home. Then they can do what they want....OVER THERE!
