The weather was superb today and my bud, Kickstand rode his Valk over. But my bike still had a few issues, so I had to keep working to make it rideable.

Found a questionable battery and had to replace it. Kickstand found a kinked petcock vaccum line, and that was addressed. Also it would not idle;.....somehow the idle adjustment was turned way down. The bike finally started and ran OK. We removed the bike from the lift and wheeled it out of the garage. Kickstand asked why there was wood under the motor? Seems the wooden lift adapter had got jammed underneath and I literally had to pry it off.

Well by this time it was too late to take it out for a test ride, as I had to be somewhere in 45 minutes and I needed to clean up and change into some good clothes and meet my wife and daughter.

There are still a few minor issues to address but for all intents and purposes, it is completed......Praise the Lord!!!

cooldude cooldude That's one nice looking ride!!! I always liked the "suede" look anyway. It really looks good with the blacked out chrome and the old school pinstripes really set it off. Looks like an old school hotrod! And what better platform to build a hotrod on?!?!?  cooldude cooldude

Looks great!  did you bob anything, cut any weight, get rid of anything unnecessary other than the signals?  I would do something similar if I had another valk.  Nice

Yes,.....along with the front turnsignals, rear turnsignals/plate mount, stock seats and backrest, sissybar, stock front fender was replaced with a VTX C fender, removed the OEM winshield and saddlebags, replaced the mirrors with VTX units, removed tank badges and reflectors. I integrated the rear turnsignals into the tailight and front has LED minis. The motor was Desmoged as well as other tweaks.

sweeeeeeet.
I wouldn't want it for my everday rider (do like my windscreen and bags) but as a second valk I would covet it muchly and probably will.

There used to be a web site named wickedwings.com based in Seattle.

They would take an early 4 or 6 pot wing and strip them down to bare essentials. Those bikes looked so good.

The nekkid street racer Valk up for sale on Ebay recently had the same feel.
