Kit asked her new boss about getting off Sturgis next year. He said he will see cause 4 others are already asking off for the same time.  :'( Told her 'I'd hate to go alone!'  Evil She said, 'well you have before.' So now I got a big delema to think about this winter. Go or stay? Hmmmm.... I dont need a baby sitter like i have in the past, at least I dont think so.  Cheesy Partied by myself alot this year in town. Hate to go at a later time since I have alot of friends to see and party with. Plus it will be our 1 yr annv but she knows how inportant riding is to me. Thought about taking another friend who has never been there or go in the fall, but wouldnt be the same. Oh well, got a few cold months to think.

If you're seriosly having a hard time deciding wether to go to Sturgis alone, or stay with your wife on your anniversary, then don't sweat it. You'll divorced by then anyway.

FUDGIE...BEWARE! It's a test! She says you can go alone but really hopes you will be a part of the annivsary celebration. You have received some good advice from many experienced men. Stay home and celebrate your anniversary.

If she really said to go by yourself and you think she meant it, you would probably believe her if she said that she didn't want anything for her birthday too. Try THAT on for size sometime.  2funny

You've got some to learn yet, Brian.

If you go by yourself, You'll have a helluva time.

When you get back home, you'll also have a  helluva time but not the kind that you'd want Grin Angry

If we were talking about the x, then yes. I'd have to stay home.  Angry

Today she mention a x-mas bonus she is getting.

'good, throw it into the Sturgis fund.'
'so I can fund your trip?'
'Oh I can go?'
'Never said you couldn't'
'I'll be working 12 hrs a day anyway.'
'Wahoo!'

We really wont know till May when I make the reservations. It'll be hard to leave her!  Evil
She is not like your typical woman. Most know that already! She could careless about jewelry, fancy clothes, and a nice resturant. She wants to be happy and be in the wind. She never asks for anything. We never have bought stuff for each other at b-days, x-mas, etc. She rather use money for important stuff. This year we are painting (today) and getting a new couch/love seat. I been there and done with that. I do like to wine her and dine'r but at our own pace. If she does ask for something, I get it. Hell our 1st date was breakfast at McD's and a PGR mission. She has no jealous streek, except she doesnt like this chic at my work for some reason..... We check out the ladies together and she even points them out to me. I would not over step my bounds and ruin what I got. Without permission of coarse.  Wink

Kit defiantly aint like most women, she'll put up with YOU ! LOL

She knows what the rally means to you,and she is surely cool with what ever you do......But I have to side with the rest of the group on this one. It is your 1ST anniversary, and I know she (or any one ) would appreciate a little something to make it special, even just a small sacrifice on your part could speak volumes.  Wink     she already expressed that she would make that sacrifice for you  ???

True. Its not the only away ride i have been on where she couldnt go and all was good. Told her your idea and that would get me home by the annv. She said no, take the whole 12 days. She said today 'whats a better 1st annv then having my husband gone!'  Grin  Usually when I p!ss her off she tells me to go to work, now she's gonna say go to Sturgis.  crazy2
Like I said, we wont know till this spring if she gets it off or not. Working on getting her a bike 1st.

Looking at the picture makes me want to go!  Grin Plus she took the picture. I learnt 2 years ago about drinking doubles. When you have a $120 bar tab for 2 after only 2-3 hrs, I drink at camp. Drink at camp, maintain at the saloon.  Evil

Hey Brian, You and Kit seem to have a great relationship, You two will make the right choice when the time comes. We have got to do some riding next year, i retired this year and have lots of time on my hands now. I wanted to stop working when i was fifty, missed it by two years. Now its time to do what i want, stay in touch i have never been to Sturgis.

I got married in November.  I was in the Navy for our first Christmas together.  I had received my household goods delivered on Christmas Eve, after that had been "lost" for 6 months.  I had my 1988 KX 250 MX bike in that shipment.  I went dirt bike riding on Christmas day, and left Mrs. Jabba home alone.

All that said... skip a year bro.  Even if she SAYS you should go... she'll be touched that you didn't.  Save the $, and go NEXT year and have a double BIG time.

19 years with my ONLY wife, and counting.

If you talked it out, and got clearance...GO... cooldude

Life is short, share, love and live...

If Kit is who and what you say she is (never met either of you) and she gives you the nod, then run son!   Evil

I would make reservations with the notion that you may need to change them a week out. Women sometimes change their minds. So I have been told!  coolsmiley

Best of luck...I am sure this may turn into another I rode to work thread!  2funny

The question to ask yourself, Fudgie, is when this life is coming to an end, do you think you'll be remembering what a great time you had in Sturgis 2011 or what a great time you and Kit had on your first anniversary.

Invest yourself in what's really important to you.  I cannot, nor can anyone else, tell you what that is for you.

Celebrate your anniversary before you go! During hunting season or fishing trips we take off for a week at a time, no problem. You won't have as much fun without her but she's giving you a nice gift no guilt, enjoy. cooldude

There’s a very simple answer to your question and it is, what's most important to you, your Wife or  Undecided Sturgis?

If you have to keep debating the question after answering that then your trying to justify what you already know to be right.   ???

Oh cr@p, sorry for taking the fun out this one.  Sad
