Are there any kits or ideas out there to make the passenger Siisy bar assembly come off  and on quickly rather than all the disasembly that has to be done currently.

I like the bike solo but would love a quick release back rest so I can make it mama freindly in seconds ! any ideas or direction  thanks

I've never seen a quick release for the back rest. But it really doesn't take long to remove it. Remove two bolts each side to take off the backrest, and two bolts each side to put on the cruiser bar. Maybe five minutes.

Ultimate seat with backrest. Not a cheap option, but it would be what you're looking for. I have the Ultimate Big Boy and the backrest fits in a slot in the seat and simply lifts out. No tools needed.

I think he was referring to the passenger seat and backrest. I change mine out every week, almost every other ride (just had to do it this morning)  I leave the tools needed permanently out on my work bench. It really doesn't take much time at all. I ride solo set up, all the gear and windshield and bags for the wife. That's one of the nice things about the Valkyrie, dress her differant ways, for differant needs and differant looks. Do it a few times, you'll get quick at it. I can have it done in six minutes, ask me how I know cooldude

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

4- 8mm bolts, 2 on each side, right at the back of the seat. The luggage rack is also bolted there. If you have one, careful not to let it drop on the fender. You dont have to remove the long sides above the wheel.

Around $450.00 if you wanted all three Quick release... Backrest and rack

Not having a std/tourer model, not knowing how the back rest mounts. How about the modification for the IS Super Valk, whereby the trunk rails are modified to be removed quickly by only loosening the bolts, and slipping the rail out from behind?

I am with you, solo should not include a "cruiser bar" in the backrest brackets, the brackets need to be gone. The best way is to go with a two piece seat that has a plug in sissy bar bracket. I have a Corbin, I did not know that Ultimate has one as well. The plugin backrest can go on the passenger or rider seat so I can go solo with no back seat and the backrest plugged into my seat or dual with both seats and the backrest plugged into the rear seat or both seats on and no backrest. The rear seat comes off pretty quick, just three screws.

What would be nice if it were a one piece unit with seat backrest all together that would bolt right to the mounting stems for the IS trunk...so you could pop it on and off quickly...

Plugging in a backrest to the passenger pillion would be the easiest.  I have a Mustang and the passenger pillion has a metal pan..
I would love to have the oe backrest quick release and may be able to fab something up. Or just to the plug in

A while back I saved these pictures, someone (don't ask me who) fabbed up this setup for Interstate fender rails. It is a beautiful job.

Here is my 97 with a Corbin which has the plug in backrest that can go in either the front or rear seat.

Here is an Ultimate on my Interstate which has a plug in for the front seat only. I had to buy some standard/tourer fender rails so I could have a rear backrest.

Where would one get a set of those? And how much would one expect to pay?

I have been wanting to do the same thing, but I can not find those mounting frames in the on-line  Honda parts catalog. Any help out there?

This is why I suggested the SUper Valk as a means.

http://www.f6rider.com/Articles/10_minute_super_valk.htm

The end has where he made a back rest with the same supports, so he could swap the trunk off for a back rest.
