A few days ago, I was bragging how well my no-name rainsuit was working. Wore it for the fourth time yesterday and the zipper tore out in the jacket. Don't have much confidence that the store that sold it to me will do much to help me, so I am looking for new rain gear.

I like what I read about Tour Master and they go up to my size (if their sizes run true). What I'm looking for is first hand experience (good or bad) from anyone who has used Tour Master. Thanks, folks.

Here's a good place to look for riding gear - many people here use them and like them. I've ordered stuff
for both me and Carolyn here, their warehouse must  be just down the street, cause it always
has shown up the next day. I got TourMaster Elite II rain pants from them, I like them a lot. Prices
are good.

WIfe and I both have the Tourmaster 2 piece rain suit.  We have had them for several years with no problems at all.  We use them for warmth as well as rain suits when it is just a little nippy.

We use the frogg toggs also.  cooldude I have rode thru some extreme rains and never got wet. We've had them about 10 years without any issues.  One of the things we like is they are like so even during the summer rains they are still comfy  Cool

you people with the tod toggs must leave them in the bike if they stay dry . my gf was soaking wet when she tried them out ..should have left them at home that way they would have stayed dry .  just my 2 cents ,,,

A+ on the frog toggs being comfortable in the heat they dont give you that clamy feeling that keeps me frm slipping on my suit before it actually starts rainning. I have a set for fishing. That being said I have been riding with two other riders whos butts got wet sitting in a puddle on their saddles. I wear an older set of Belstaffs that dont breath as well as I would like and are about due for replacment. I have also wondered about the Tourmasters, have one of their 3/4 lenght jackets for 10 yrs or more very happy with it. And Newenough gets a lot of my money ,get on their mail list its hard to beat their clearance prices.

Seems like they would take up space when you travel. I got a set of Sterns from wal mart fishing section. 2 pc. Even have a hidden hood. $20 for a set and fold up real small. Flexable to. Had'm for 4 years and in a few Dakota storms with no problems.

I had a TourMaster coat and some cheap pants. Replaced the pants with TM "Sentinel" pants. After 3 yrs the jacket tore. Replaced with TM "Sentinel" jacket. Couldn't be happier with the upgraded Sentinel model. I use the jacket over my Joe Rocket mesh jacket for cold weather riding. Chose yellow/black for high visability commuting to work.

My Tourmasters fit in a quart baggie in my saddlebags, I never take them out...

All Tourmaster stuff is very good, and reasonably priced.  I have a two sets of Tourmaster separately ordered jacket and pants and they work great.  They don't pack as tight as some stuff, but tight enough (I roll jacket and pants up as tight as I can and shove them into a single stuff sack that almost never leaves the bike.

A word to the wise, most reasonably priced rain gear is non-breathable vinyl stuff.... if you wait till it's pouring rain to put it on, you may very well tear out the pants hurrying up shoving your boots down thru the legs while hopping around on the side of the road trying not to fall in the mud.   2funny     Don't blame the gear if you do this.

Another word to the wise.  Buy your stuff big enough to put on over your heaviest gear.  This stuff is not a fashion statement, and we are always putting it on in a hurry.  And in 80-90 degree weather, many would rather get wet than put on this sweatsuit gear.

Unlike V-twinkies, you don't need to pay for the nomex on the inside legs.

PS Nelson-Rig also is good, reasonably priced stuff.

My wife and I were on a ride with another couple a while back. We were headed into some heavy rains ahead, so we decided we were going to stop and put our Frogg toggs on. Well, the other couple (they ride a Harley) called us wussies, dorks. We headed off again and got about 4 miles up the rode, and after riding  the last 3 miles in rain they wanted to stop and put their rain gear on  uglystupid2 I told them we may be dorks, wussies, but we were at least DRY Dorks

OK, how about Tour Master's sizing? Do they run true to size? big? small?

I wear a 4XLT and that's as large as they make 'em. And that size only comes in black - would have preferred the yellow or red, but........

Guess I just need to know if these will fit me.

We easily sent back an unmolested jacket for Carolyn to newenough.com and got a quick refund...
