Howdy, Gang:  Does anyone have experience (good or bad) with the Cortech DSX or Mod denim riding jackets?  Weight-wise, I'm looking for something in between leather and mesh - and Cortech caught my eye since they come in Tall sizes and are pretty reasonably priced.  (Incidentally, this is the same company that makes reinforced riding jeans).  Any feedback is much appreciated; in advance, thanks much.  Terry

I like mine!  With the armor its a lil bulky, will take most of a saddlebag . Very Comfy, and warm with the liner in.  Great Jacket..     Kendall

I don't have it, but one of my best riding buddies has been wearing the black denim one for several years and he loves it.  Comfortable, warm liner, vents, and the internal armor stays put better than some other textile jackets.  Not waterproof, liner is for warm not wet.  Cortech is Tourmasters high end products.

+1 on what others have said, it'll be your "go to" jacket in all but two situations: 1. Extreme heat; and 2. rain.  With the armor, it's somewhat heavy, and the denim is nice and thick.  There are vents, but IMHO it still gets too warm in there if the temp is over 90.  Then I go to a mesh jacket.  And it's not waterproof, but that's what rain suits are for anyway.

That $60 price at Bike Bandit is a bargain.  I paid twice that about a year ago.

Hey Terry. I sure you don`t remember, but I have the DSK in light Denim that I wore on one on the times you and I rode together.  ??? I think mine is as heavey as my Leather w/o armour.  I pulled out the back armour and it is still buky. They are well made and fit is right on in sizing, 42 fits me fine. Bottom line IMOP , the Cortech DSX in not a medium weight jacket. But any lighter and where is the protection ?  Undecided

I bought one while in southern florida (I live in Ohio) working on a construction job.  I got a great deal.  I think 39 bucks.  It was in July so that rings true.  Anyway I have had it 4 years and its the most comfortable MC jacket I have for cool/cold weather.  I dont wear it when its warm.  Like I said it is very comfortable.  If you get one that fits you well you will not be sorry.

I live close to and visit often the store Iron Pony.  They got a good chuckle out of the price I paid.  They were charging $139 for the same jacket 4 years ago.  Now they are less expensive and they have a large supply of this jacket in different colors.

Good Luck!!!

I've had a DSX for two or three   seasons.  It's my summer jacket but the lining does a good job after the weather cools off.

The design is good but denim is not the quality of a 1960s Levi jacket.

Wife sewed a rip above the back padding and sewed the sleeves where they were fraying at the cuffs.   I'd buy another if I couldn't find a similar product manufactured outside China.
