Is anyone organizing a ride over to Austin from the Houston area that Friday morning?  I wonder if i'm allowed back at the Shiner Beer Brewery yet?  We could maybe go to the Bush Library in College Station or the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory in Brenham.  Any other suggestions?  Blacks for BBQ?

Last year some folks got their own tickets on-line through the Wild Game Dinner web site.  Just spoke with my son, who is in charge of ticket sales this year, and he states that they are only selling 100 tickets through the web-site.  After those are gone they must be purchased through him or at the door.

At the door tickets are $25.

The following people have told me they wanted me to arrange for their tickets for them:

Hot Glue & Flamingo Babe - 2
QOTFU - 4
Gear Jammer - 2
Hay Hauler - 2
Franco6 - 2
Larry Sherwood -2
Old Geezer - 2
Blotar - 2
Strider - 1
Wizard - 1
Santa Chuck - 1
Early Bird - 1

If I missed your name or made any mistakes, please let me know.  Several others have made reservations to attend but did not tell me to get tickets.

These advance tickets are $20 each.

After rereading this post, I did not notice ANYONE from the DFW area?  Are you all boycotting us?  Love to have you join us again.

I have a scheduling conflict with a 3-day class I'm anxious to take.  It is not being offered anytime else on the '11 calendar.   Sad

I gave the event a heart-felt endorsement at our meeting last Thursday (while appropriately gorging on MEAT), and sincerely hope someone else will step up and keep the DFW streak alive.

What more can you ask for?  Great time with great folks eating great food for a great cause!   cooldude

I would love to see someone win that and try to strap it on the back of the Valkyrie.  I'll bring some extra bungee cords, just in case.

We're planning to come, but we still have some logistics to work out.  Assuming it all works out, we'll be staying with the in-laws, but then bringing some of them by for dinner.

Speaking of logistics, is anyone planning to take a cage to the hotel there from Houston?  If so, do you have two empty seats that need filling?  Stephanie's not up for driving, certainly not that far, so either she and Shelley hitch a ride with someone going out, or I have to cage it to Austin myself so that they can make it.

It's a little closer than our hill country ride was.  (The one you joined us on).  Just a little closer.
Email me your itinerary, and we'll work out an arrangement.

I'm traveling with a colleague and his wife, so I need to check whether they will survive being alone one night.  ???
We will be staying at Hotel Sorella located at I-10 and Beltway 8.
This is a new hotel and in a great place for shopping, eating, etc so I dont think they will need me Saturday.
At what time are you leaving Houston?

 cooldude  Thank you Lyn-Del

Still working out my plans for departure.  It sounds like there will be a group going out on Friday AM.  I may have to leave either later that day, or Saturday, so you might have company either way.

It is almost time.  One week from now I should be in Austin checking in to the Heart of Texas Motel.

So far I am still hoping our North Texas friends might find a way out of the frozen north and manage to ride down to visit with us.

Time is getting short.   GIT-R-DONE

My tentative plans are if you want breakfast, you are on your own.

Ride will depart from Heart of Texas Motel.  Our first stop, I believe, will be in Blanco.  Probably for a cup of coffee or refueling or potty stop or whatever.  I think we will probably ride into the town square area.  If you would call me next Friday evening I should have a better idea.

Santa Chuck, Wizard and I are going over a day early to ride the route on Friday before folks start coming in to the motel.   Cell: 281foursixseven3909

Really think Blanco might be a good spot for him to pick us up.

Just got my room.  Ray, sorry for the confusion, but I am easily confused.  I thought it was last weekend, which was my grandson's birthday.  I was a week off brother man.

Got the room - see you there!!!  Save me a ticket if you still have one please.  I will be riding in by myself since I want to stop and visit with JP and Ms Mary on the way over.

Sweet Deal, Mr. Strider.  I never got rid of the ticket I had saved for you, so you are still covered.  IF you want an extra day, Santa Chuck, Wizard and I are riding in Thursday.  We are going to 'pre-ride' the Saturday route, giving us an extra day.  Just in case you wanted to spend another day out with extended family.

Woooo Hooooo.   Mid Winter Gathering can now be AWESOME!!!!

You just made my day.

Give our concerns to J.P. and Miss Mary from us also.  I still remember her not letting me leave the house until I ate some of her spaghetti.  Sweet lady.  Tell them both we been praying for them.

Thank Goodness, QOTFU sent me the route Maris has put together to get there.  Got it yesterday and I was thinking, "Why would she send this to me today - the ride was two days ago."  THAT was when I realized I was a week off....Like I said, I am easily confused at times.  Did the old, eyes staring at the ground with feet shuffling...."Babe, would you mind if I go eat some wild game feast in Austin this weekend?"  "GO!" she says, so I go I must....Whooooooooo-Hooooooooooooooo!!!!

I had even told my wife last Friday that I was going to miss it.  She asked why I don't have people  I ride with?  I do, says I, they just live in other states.... cooldude
