I have a newbie question. For Valkyrie owners there seems to be the 'big' club, the VRCC and the much 'smaller' VOAI. Like many of you, I frequent both forums and websites. If there are other Valkyrie groups out there I simply don't know about, nor really care about it. I don't have enough time to enjoy both groups event now.

The Valkyrie line has long since been discontuned so my obvious question is why. Why separate groups instead of one even larger one? One National Club with State reps and one 'national' rally a year in various locations with many state rallies and a few regional ones thrown in as well.

Just Curious,

Mark

The club personalities are pretty different, but most members at least read some on each board. I am VOA #1252 and VRCC #810, so I have been around both for a while. This site has lots more folks, therefore more information. Lots more political posts here. ShopTalk is only here and is frequently linked to on the VOA boards. I like 'em both and frequent both. I've been to both the InZanes and VOA Reunions. The different group personalities are obvious at those two. Which do I enjoy??? Yes! cooldude

Being a member of both, i am glad you posted this...Now I know...

I did not join either club until a little over 2 years ago...and I have learned more than I thought was possible.

Thanks...and I love my red white and blue shield VRCC patch. I wear it with pride when I ride.

i just recently joined the VOAI, i was surprised at how little the forum gets updated. there seem to be very few on a daily basis. i may be missing something, but i do see some of the valk owners i grew to know here, post there also.
its almost like a marriage that went wrong and the wife got the fortune.
i do appreciate the fact they may have a different ride planned that maybe i can go to. i missed inzane this year and looks like next also. so hopefull i will have a good family reunion. coolsmiley

Thanks, very informative post! Thanks Bobbo for posting up the link to Lamonster's article.

I go to both boards, well, not as much now as I used to, mainly the VRCC now. I was hot to trot to join the VOIA, but some glitch with a security certificate of the web site made me decide against doing it on line, and even though the admin for VOAI was helpful, the "work-a-round" was still a PITA, so somehow I lost my enthusiasm for sending in my payment to joining VOIA. (Sorry, but I just can't bring myself to go against the advice of not worrying about sending CC info over a site with a failed security certificate).

Now, when I go to the VOAI site, without having paid up, I feel like I'm stealing, so I don't do it much! Maybe others have had the same experience, and that has hurt the cause? Just sayin? Sad

I wont pay to join a club.

That is certainly your choice.  The biggest difference between the VOAI and the VRCC is the organization of them.

The VOAI is a club, as one normally thinks of a club.  It is run by and for the members.  It elects those the members wish to see run the club for them.

The VRCC is a wholly owned business.  The "members" do not contribute anything to the heirarchy of the club.  They do not elect officers, etc. Kind of like being a member of "Sams Club".   The owners of the"club" run the VRCC, and have done a fine job of it!

The VRCC is supported by sales of merchandise, sponser fees, money made at Inzane, etc.

The VOAI has a fee of $20 to be a member.  You do not have to pay to use the forums on the internet, and you do not have to pay to attend their Reunion, other than a nominal fee, just as you pay to attend Inzane. The fee for the Reunion is much less than for Inzane.

So, if you wish to attend the smaller events, chat on the forums, etc, there is NO charge, unless you wish to help out with the $20 to support the website.

Sounds pretty good to me!

I belong to both, and attend events of both.  I wish them both well.  I do wish they would cross post events more.  They do have different personalities.  VRCC has more events, vendors, etc.  The VOAI has their Reunion, and it is about riding, and fellowship, and shooting the breeze in the lot at night,  eating together, etc.  The VRCc is more into organized events, etc.  Love them both.  Live long and prosper!

They do have different personalities.

Someone explaine the difference, I would sure like to know. I believe we (The VRCC) has all kinds of personalities.
So tell me, what personality does the VRCC have?
Watch out cause this is a LOADED question!

I went to the VOAI Reunion last year in LaCrosse and met some of the nicest people I've ever met. I will certainly make a point of attending more VOAI events in the future. Seriously nice people and seriously fun riding with them.

I've never been to a VRCC event so I'm really looking forward to my very first Inzane event next July. I have a brother in Muskegon Michigan, I lived in 'Da UP' for a couple of years and I've ridden nearly every county in the entire state. The area in and around Bellaire is wonderful.

I spend more time on the VRCC website only because it's more active. Very glad to see so many of the same people on both sites though.

Bobbo, thanks for the vcrr.uk link as I greatly enjoyed reading it and following the links that are still active.

Forza Valkyrie!!!
