I'm actually a BMW F650GS owner but I recently had an uncle who passed away in Hesperia, California.  He owned a 1997 Honda Valkyrie, Model GL1500CT/2 VIN 1HFSC3447VA000096

http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vinDecoder/1HFSC3447VA000096

My uncle rode the Valkyrie literally less than 40 miles.  It was stored at his home otherwise.  It was last ridden 3 or 4 years ago so the fluids in the bike are at least that old.

My uncle's relatives and myself live outside of California.  We are looking for someone to go over to his home and change the fluids and try to get the bike started.  If that person can give us a fair assessment of the bikes condition and value, that would be appreciated as well.

We do have contacts in Hesperia and we can have someone meet you at my uncle's home to show you where the bike is.

You would be paid for your time and supplies.  Please contact me at biker@ohiobobcat.com and if you can give a quote for the job and what you expect would need to be done to get the bike in working order bar any unforeseen issues.  If you can give me your phone number as well, I or my sister (who is administrator of my uncle's will) can discuss the bike further.

Thank you,
Bryan Cady

Sorry I can't help, but nice it is one of the first 100 Valks made. 96th to be exact. I'm sure it will need the carbs cleaned before it will start.

So sorry for your loss. Sad

I would gladly help you all out anyway I could but I think it's a 5-6 hour drive from me, I am up in San Jose, CA. (that is the San francisco bay area) There has got to be one of our Valkyrie lovers down that area that would be able to help you out but not all of us read this forum everyday... So it might take a little while to find some help but be patient and I am sure help will find you.

You may want to contact someone through the SoCal board.  Specifically, I believe BigMac there will be able to hook you up.

I have email him directly and if he wants I will do what I can to help him out. He has replied and said that he will contact me soon and discuss options to get the bike going.

Thanks , Dave
