Just got an HJC CL-15 helmet, via the internet.  The front bottom area, in front of the jaw has an open space, and there is some Velcro to attach something.  There are no pics that I can find anywhere to determine if something is missing, or if an accessory goes there.  The owners manual for the helmet makes no mention of anything for that area.  The picture below shows the area, the helmet is upside down, couldn't do a photo of it up right by myself.

Anyone know what goes there?

i'm wondering if it's a spot to attatch an air deflector, or something to keep your neck warm like a scarf?

There is a small block of foam that fits in there. It is for cold weather riding. Removed mine when I bought it.

Not that I would need it in Florida.  But you're saying whatever goes there is missing then?  There is nothing in the box to attach there.

That is correct. The foam piece must not have been shipped . They are usually in the bottom of the box, in plastic wrap. With the instructions on cleaning the shield. I looked for mine. Must have chucked it out. My wifey said hers kept comming loose and it irritated her, so she chucked her as well. It just covers the little vent or opening in the front of the helmet. It is worthless at best. That is,  Unless you ride a snowmobile in Nome Alaska. We live in upstate New York and dont need it. I really dont see you needing it in Florida.
But if it is an issue, contact the manufacturer and I am sure they will send a replacement. Or the bike shope where you bought it. I will bet they have a lot of spares....

I believe there are a couple of options for the HJC Helmets, one is a breath guard to keep you from fogging the shield (it snaped into those two holes in the front) and the velcro is for the chin curtain. At least these used to be options for the HJC Helmets.

The breath guard is called the Breath Box, check out this link, it shows the chin curtain and down on the left it has the breath box.
