An iconic moment.  Hard to believe that they cant come up with enough money to erect a statue to him.

I'm always taken aback and impressed when I see examples and hear stories of  men of honor who did their duty no matter what and had a bottomless sense of loyalty to their country.  It's an impressive and uplifting thing to see.  They don't call it  "The Greatest Generation" for nothing.

I sure hope they can come up with the money to put up a statue.  It's critical that we stop from time to time to remind ourselves what men and women with true grit did for us a long time ago and that we don't take anything for granted.
