I've got La Monster risers on now but still feel like I'm reaching more then I'd like to, are there any other kind out there maybe taller or more pitch back without changing the cables?

That's what kind I have now too... look at the whacky ones that were on my bike when I got it! I've changed the angle of the bars in the risers a few times, and it really changed the way everything felt... if you try it, make sure you don't swoop them down to where they hit your tank (or anything) at full lock... -Mike

No, the LaMonster/Aeromach are as much riser movement as you can get without doing some alteration with the lines. I have the HD Deuce 6" risers on one IS, and all the front hoses were swapped out to SS and longer (bought this way)....but I don't think that was necessary. I think you can get away with rerouting the existing throttle cables inside the triple tree and leaving everything else (brake & clutch hoses) as is... I think. Not my IS. http://www.jakewilson.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&webTypeId=501&navTitle=Motorcycle+Accessories&webCatId=42&keyword=DEUCE+RISERS&prodFamilyId=20492

Thanks Mase.... I saw your name in the pic info link. Hehe
BTW, while we're talking about the deuce risers, you also have to cut the little doughnut rings off the bottom of these (HD knockoff) risers (for a flush mount to the top of the tree), and drill out the riser bolt holes by a few thousandths of material (with a 1/2" bit) so 1/2" bolts can be used in the metric holes. (No big deal if you go back to metric, the metric bolts will hold just fine.)

Well on my interstates, you really can't see either the LaMonsters or the Deuce risers.... they're pretty will hidden by the fairings. Better to pick what works over what looks good anyway. I like the Deuce quite a bit for cruising comfort, but must admit that at 5'9" with a 33" sleeve, the LaMonster risers are better for me when hauling hard thru the twisty mountains.
With the Deuce, if you turn the bars almost to the lock (obviously doing slow maneuvers), your inboard hand is very close to your thigh.

why don't you check with daryl at xf6-custom.....his risers do exactly what you are looking for, and don't need any cable changes.

you can install the Duce risers and buy an interstate throttle housing then you do not need to buy longer cables. The standard throttle housing routes the cables over the top and the Interstate comes out the bottom. I am 6'7" and the Duce risers worked great for me. If you are looking on fleabay for risers try what I did........ misspell words on purpose, I did and found my Duce risers, brand new for $20 shipped to my door because I was the only one to bid on them

I tried the Duece risers on the '99 but they were too much pullback & height for me. I re-routed the throttle cables but they were binding at RH lock. Longer cables would be required. The brake & clutch lines would still work. I have my eye on the riser extensions that you linked to Farther but they seem to be a bit pricey for what they are. I'll keep searching for a bargain set of 4.5 rise/pullback chrome risers but I'll probably end up with the extensions. They look they will add the perfect amount of rise & pullback. I have the set of already modified Duece risers if anybody is interested. I did nick them just a little while cutting down the bottom "ring" but not bad. The lovely & kind DD from the Florida board gave them to me so ask her for a price. If she says no charge I'll ship 'em out.

I have a set of these listed in the Classifieds, perfect shape. They give about a 5" rise and something like 2.5" pullback. Take a look and then measure your set up to see what it would do for you. I ordered but never installed them so don't know how the throttle controls would work with the extra rise. Might have to relocate them behind the forks.
