Briefly had both at the same time. Kept the IS (as if I had a choice). The old lady beloved wife insists on the 'huggy' back seat. If I were solo, I'd have an older Tourer with those awesome retro colors that I really, really like. Cry

Personally, the Tourer. My standard has been outfitted with Interstate saddlebags, and a Memphis Shades screen. If I want more room, I'll drag the trailer behind.

I had quite a few "Interstates", but we called them "GoldWings"...

Again, it's up to you, and what you feel you want to ride, and what you are comfortable with.

+1 on that. The Interstate is a fine looking machine but doesn't work for me. I like the openness and nakedness of the Tourer .... "less is more"

I wanted a Tourer when I was shopping but couldn't pass up the Std. I found so I made it into a Tourer "wannabe".  The addition of the Mustang seat did wonders for the passenger comfort.
