DS-0009 ...... # 173

Des Moines, IA

« on: April 04, 2009, 04:10:23 PM »

I've had a couple of calls from Freindswood, TX and no one seems to of got the message.

RJ started for TX at O'Dark 30 on Thursday morning.    102 miles later in Missouri, he did a couple of 360's in about 5 miles or so.  The last one he stuck the nose of his wife's car in the ditch.

Was able to back out and was shaking like a leaf, that was one deep firkin ditch to of gone in.

Went down the road to the Rest Area and took a nap and to get settled down.     Woke up, and spent about 40 to 45 minutes chipping ice off the windshield.

Tossed a coin in the air and called heads I go on, it came up tails, so I went to a cross over and headed back North.  I was right at 4 hours doing 102 miles......  Would never of made Denton, TX at that rate for my overnight stop.

Got home, either got the flu or something, as I had the runs and couldn't keep anything down, till about 10:00 AM or so today.

Mom is fixing supper now and I'll try to eat some of it and hope to God it stays there till it turns to something else.....

Miss being in the warm weather, but the way things turned out, I think I made the right choice, to come back home.    Would sure as 7734 hated to of had to stick to the Motel while everyone else was partying............

The weather channel is predicting Blizzard conditions for us tonight and tomorrow..........   Haven't heard how much snow we are to get, but they say several inches a few miles North of us.

Later, and all of ya have a safe ride home.  We see ya on the flip flop somewhere.

Sorry you didn't make it down, you were missed.  But I'm glad you opted for the safer side.

Take care!

Ride safe, the snow will melt soon

hope you're feeling better soon.
"so i went to a cross over and headed back home"..........now is that legal? hehehe
i'd say so, you were an emergency vehicle, you were in the vehicle and the emergency
was you had to get back home.
a lot of LEO"s on here, don't want you gettin' no tickets.(tongue in cheek).

RJ... We missed seeing you down at Friendswood at the GOTF. We hope you are feeling better soon and can get out on the road again. It sounds like you were in some horrible conditions to start out with, so you probably made a great choice in heading back to the hacienda and safety. Take care and we hope to see you very soon.

RJ glad you are OK.  Would have liked to meet ya but better to have good chance to meet again.  Bike parking?  All the bikes were in the driveway and the yard the people and the food occupied the carport type area.

Stay safe.
