Ok. I got rid of the switch a few years ago but with much talk on here I decided to replace it. Got a used one (11k) in the mail. Where does it hook up to? It has a green connection but dont remember seeing a connection awhile ago. Whats the best way to get to it?

I bought one for a I/S. I assume it will fit a Tourer, correct?

Standard/Tourer have a different plug and wires than the IS. Sorry ! It won't work. Don't ask how I know.

Fudgie, get out your manual and take a look at the wiring schematics for both bikes. I'll bet you can get it to work just by changing the plugs on both sides of the connection. I haven't looked at a wiring diagram, just tossing an idea into the ring.

I ran into this as well. The STD/Tour has a three wire switch over the two wire IS. Guessing the reason being the STD/Tour has the kickstand light in the cluster and the IS doesn't. Hence the third wire. Kickstand plug on main harness tucked up in front battery box area with other plugs. Takes some nimble hands from under bike to get at it.

Not sure if you cut your wires at your old switch to bypass. You might be able to wire in the IS switch but it might be easier to get the correct switch.

Yep, I agree with Cef2lion...I just got out my manual and took a look. I think you'll be money and frustration ahead if you just spring for the proper switch.

I have the pc that I cut off. I guess I could 'wire nut' it back together. Thought I could do it clean by just replacing.
