I used it for years in my older vehicles. Now I have "newer" ones,
made since 2000. Does Slick 50 work as well in the 'new' engines
like it did in the older ones? Just wondering if the newer engine
designs, differerent metals (?) and tighter tolerances would benefit
from the slick stuff...or would it be a waste of $$$?

Your choice, but not in the Valk, please.  It will ruin your clutch.  hoser

Yeah, that's why I put "non-Valk" in the subject.

The first article pretty well sums it up...there's no PROOF that any of them
actually help, but in some cases, at least, it obviously does. When I put it
in my (built) 84 Camaro it definitley helped the motor run a little easier....
but I was using 50 wt racing oil. Plus, when I added it to my stock Chevy
p/u, 350, it seemed to help it rev a little quicker (mud drags & off-roading).
Neither engine lasted long enough for an extended evaluation ( traded the
Camaro to a guy that rolled it after being clocked at 130, destroyed everything
but the gas cap!...the p/u caught fire when a fuel line busted, burned all the
wiring and hoses and never ran right after that) Guess I'll hold off on the oil
additives. Friend of mine that used to build engines for IHRA teams told me
one time..."Don't put nuthin' in a motor but oil." But then he changed his oil
several times a day at the track!
