Nothing beats a 6-pack!

I found a set of Cobra Lightbars, and I'm in the process of beating the cabin fever, by installing them. I have a Memphis Fats windscreen by Memphis Shades. It looks like I will have to put the quick-release mounts on backwards, which moves the screen back about an inch. I also found that the Cobra Lightbars make the two QR mounts too close together, by about 1/2", to fit the unadulterated mounting bracket on the windshield. I will have to extend/expand one of the holes, to make it fit. But, it's in place, and seems to have around 1/4" clearance on both the tach/speedo, and back of the lights.

I'm wondering if anyone else has done this? I was thinking I would have to cut a "cut-out" at the bottom corners of the screen, around the lights, but doesn't look like I'll have to. I was a little concerned about changing the mount, but has to be so little, that I don't see it harming the structural integrity.

I have seen where some people have lowered the light bars, but that would mean getting rid of the bar that goes between the stock turn signals, plus, to me, I have about 1/2" clearance at the most for the turn signals, and if I lowered the light bar, it looks like it would definitely create a clearance problem, at full stops.

Here's where I'm at - any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty content with the way it is, but any help/tips/comments would be helpful.

Also, as an aside, I am thinking about making some plexiglass "extensions" that would bolt to the sides of the shield, with stainless, about 8" X 6", right at the handgrips, to maybe break the wind in the cold - a "poor man's fairing", sort of. Has anyone seen or done that? I've seen extensions on goldwings before, which gave me the idea, something like these:

EDIT: Found some about exactly what I was planning on:

Thanks,

R
