First- sorry if this is on wrong board but no luck elsewhere.

There used to be a set of aftermarket pins you could buy (years ago) with recessed release buttons in the top to allow for fast/easy removal of the Valk Interstate hard saddlebags. Are these still available anywhere?

ps Happy New Year from Australia- where the drought has finally broken.

Try going to www.rattlebars.com and check out Chet's "Bag Drop Kit" to see if that's what your thinking of.

I think you are talking about the pins, that you drill out your "nuts", and the pins have a detent ball, that holds the bags on, instead of the bolts?

They are TBR Quick Release pins. Here's a link to a thread on them, and how to make your own:

I remember several other posts, giving more info, size, length, etc. You can do a search for tbr, and probably find it. The pins look like this:

I am still seriously considering some, for mine...

If these aren't what you are talking about, never mind...

EDIT: OK, curiosity got the best of me - I found the thread I was talking about, it's here:

Pins like that are available on boating websites. They're used on sailboats for easy rigging purposes.

WWW.WestMarine.com Do a search here for ball lock pins.
