Today I replaced the shifter seal (thank you Daniel Meyer!) on my 99 Tourer w/ 75k miles. The bike was on the centerstand already, so I started it up and ran through the gears with the clutch in to make sure I got the shift linkage in the correct position. I noticed the rear wheel spins slowly while in gear. Is my clutch not disengaging fully, or is this normal?

If you perform the above procedure and your rear wheel "spins slowly" as reported by the OP, I think you have a problem (unlike the OP whose bikes appears to functioning normally).

You better hope that's what happens....could launch the front wheel into the air and take you for a nice ride.   Smiley
