Citydriver , I added turn signals to my trunk running light housings. Mark T and many of the folks here have a lot more knowledge in the electrical dept, than I do. So while my method was twice the cost I felt more comfortable with it. I purchased a kit from the electrical connection http://www.electricalconnection.com/other-lighting/tsk-star&sport.htm I opened the trunk lighting housings and mounted the light rings from the kit in the running light lens ,drilled maybe a 1/16 hole in the back of the running light housing to run the wiring out for the LED light rings from the kit (sealed the hole after completing the install) ran the wires from both left and right light rings through the wire loom with all the trunk wiring, down the frame until I reached a point just to the drivers rt. and aft of the battery ,at this point you can splice into the signal wiring . I have had mine installed since 06 and they have worked fine. I left all other wiring alone , didn't try to make them brake lights, running lights or any thing else. Here it is with the rt. signal on. Hope this helps you. If I were to do it again I might try using one of these. http://www.customdynamics.com/honda_turn_signal_led.htm

The Rattlebars option 4 is exactly how I'd like my Interstate rear lights to operate. How easy/difficult is it to cut out the single filament bulb socket and add the dual setup? Also, how about wiring up the relays?
Thank You,
Mark

It is possible to do this without adding 2-filiment, 1157 type sockets. Explained: Here's the schematic I designed, linked above - and also the circuit Chet bases his variations on: Check out my circuit at http://www.horseapple.com/Valkyrie/Tech_Tips/VTX_signals/vtx_signals.htmlHere it is, reprinted here: Note, in this circuit I show how to wire in a single filament bulb to use as run, stop, and turn by adding resistors and diodes. That same sub-circuit can be added to my circuit linked above, so you don't have to install 1157 sockets. Tip: I use a variable-resistor - aka "pot" (potentiometer), I think it's 0-1000Ω, wired where the fixed resistor is shown in the diagram, and dial it up/down until I get the look of the light I want, for the running-light brightness. Then use a meter on ohms setting to measure it's impedence. Then install that size fixed resistor in the circuit.

I have Interstate trunk rear lighting item numbers 2 and 11 on order with HDL to perform the Rattlebars option number 4. I also have a Standard/Tourer tail light assembly on order with HDL. Next step will be to get the relays, open my wiring diagram, the Option 4 instructions and have at it.
Thank You,
Mark

be careful if you start adding extra lights to your trunk, it's not too hard to go overboard!! (it's an inside joke....)

Alph,
The LED work you've done to your Interstate is beyond beautiful, it's stunning! Next up on my to do list after I get this project done is to purchase and install the Audiovox cruise control. I know that you and Nitro will have a bunch of pointers that will make my cruise control install go nice and smooth.
All the best,
Mark

It helps a lot if you make them all LED while you are at it, but I promise you that no matter what you do it won't guarantee that you won't be hit from behind...JTL
