Time for everyone to chime in and give suggestions for a location for next weeks meeting.

Lonesome Spur in Justin?  Good food and good backroad riding to get there.  http://eatatlonesomespur.com/

Or, Pappas BBQ at I35E and NW Highway?

Or, Hard 8 BBQ in Coppell?  http://www.hardeightbbq.com/

I liked Hard 8 although it a little loud for a meeting. I don't remember if there was any private area. I have never been to Lonesome Spur and am always open to something new.

Neither Hard 8 or Pappas has a separate room.  Not that the lack of a separate area has stopped us before.

Lonesome Spur's website says it closes at 2PM so that would not work for a meeting.  (Maybe a future Saturday ride).  The other concern is the location.  West side locations traditionally pull in a low number of attendees.

I was recently told about the Brazilian Cowboy Steakhouse and Grill in Plano.  NB I-75 service road, north of 15th (exit 29).  I haven't been there, so I don't know if it's suitable for a rough & tumble biker meeting.  I also can't vouch for the food, but my "recommender" is a real foodie and he and his family like it about as well as they like Fogo de Chao, Tejas de Brazil, and their favorite, Rafain.  It's more casual, family-friendly, and perhaps best of all, the price is much lower.  $9.95 for all you can eat salad bar + hot buffet.  17.95 for all you can eat salad bar + hot buffet + grilled meats.  Not cheap, but if you skip lunch...

I believe "All You Can Eat" is VRCC for potential destination.    Cheesy

From the website, "For those of you wanting to try something lighter, we have Brazilian style burgers, chicken sandwiches, tuna pizza, grilled chicken salad, and meat plates."

No music on Thursdays.

http://www.thebraziliancowboy.com/

If we want to wait until someone volunteers to check it out first, I'm sure that can be arranged.   Roll Eyes

Their website says Thursday is Bike or Hot Rod night - 20% discount on food for motorcycle groups.

Sounds like a deal to me.

A friend of mine knows the owner there, speaks very highly of the food. I think that would be a cool place to try.

Well, ain't you the prezidint or somethin'?  (determining meeting locations is one of the "perks" of office).  If that's where you want to meet, let's go there!

I don't like to mandate a location by presidential fiat. The choice of location has generally been a club consensus I think and I will assume we have at least a consensus of two at this point LOL.

Taking Janet's carnivorous streak into consideration, I believe there will be two of us!

Hey Jim, will we see you there???  If you leave now, you still have time.

Whoops!  Sorry, but the coughing and snorting just started - I have been infected by the wife's cold!  I tried so hard not to get it, but here I am.

So, I won't be coming to the meeting and infecting others.

Sorry.

Hey hg,
Life is good. I really like the job and there are some nice roads here.
While the temps have hovered around freezing it did hit 50 around New Years, so I just had to take the bike out. I've only seen one other Valk since I've been here.
Sure do miss all of you good Texas Valkyrie folks, but got to do what you got to do.

But I did live north of I-10, so it wasn't like I was really in Texas anyhow....right! 2funny

Ride safe Brother!

Final head count was 14, Hoghead and Wanderer actually rode in.

Food was well worth the price, general consensus was The Brazilian Cowboy would be a definite repeat later this year.

Chauffeur will host a wrenching party on Saturday the 29th at his place in Mansfield, details to be posted soon.

Doc will be leading a ride from Terrell to Edom on Sunday the 23rd for some PIE! details to be posted soon.

For those who do not already know, Dave Valkpilot Barnett accepted a job in Allentown PA. Although not relocating, he will be away weeks at a time and does not feel he can commit the time and energy to the post of VP that he would like. Nominations  are being considered for a candidate to fill the post until July elections.

There was general discussion concerning a second annual DFW Charity Run. There seemed to be general agreement that the last weekend of April or first weekend of May would be a better time for the event. I will be checking all the event calenders to look for conflicts so we can post a date and get cracking.

Gary Sidecar Touchstone brought the PBTF Ride for Kids plaque for the VRCC contribution to the 2010 ride. The club was number 3 overall and number two of actual clubs running just behind Maxim Honda's club. The plaque will be presented to Al Lamb for display as club sponsor.

Thanks for the concise summation of the meeting, Ghillie.  Even though I was sitting next to you I was so full from all the different types of meat I don't remember a lot after I turned my little card over to red to stop bringing food. L
