On cold days (40 and below) my turn signals do not work as they should. They are slow to turn on once the switch is activated. They act that way until after several cycles of use. I was thinking that maybe the switch was bad but on normal nice riding days they act fine. I think there are two possibilities here, 1 the switch contacts need cleaning or the switch needs replacing, 2 the signal relay is starting to go bad and wont pass the electric charge. Both right and left signals are affected but the left seems to cure later than the right.
As a recent example I rode a bit yesterday, 32 degrees. After several miles of intown riding and several turns the signals were fine but in the begining not so much.
If a new relay is in order, does anyone know of a substitute relay part number to bypass the Honda super surcharge on parts. Honda part suppliers range from $36 to $48. That seems way high.
Please offer suggestions if you can.

Open the switch housing and I think you will find the factory grease has turned to a hard waxy chuncks. clean and relube and it should be fine. The heat from the poor conection is heating up the old lube and then it works. Mine came out in chuncks after cleaning and relube, has worked fine for years.  |

Same here the colder it got the worse it got. Took it apart and cleaned it. Everything ok now

+1  my switch is verrry slow when cold. after afew cylces, it's all good! didn't know about the cleaning. |

My ACE T turn switch also was acting up. Pushing the cancel would not reset one direction, but would the other.
Opened the switch up, flushed with a little WD-40, dried, and then used spary silicon.
Year later, all is still working well, push cancel working fine.
