We got the cold here in SE MN, pushes the ice and snow south and you get the lake stuff in Mich. I saw the national weather and it looks like everyone is suffering from PMS (parked motorcycle syndrome) this week, even those folks down south.

Just be coincedence - I was having lunch with my wife 15 minutes ago and I said "Honey, I sure miss taking a ride this Saturday on the bike".  Then the tears were about to flow Sad and she said "don't worry, the sun will shine and the roads will be clear in 90 DAYS. Then I really teared up.

From the looks of things you might need to go as far south as Mexico to get decent weather for riding this year.
I saw a couple of riders out in Ottawa on Dec 30th. We've had some nasty days with lots of calcium chloride on the streets for ice. I cringe when I think about what that stuff does to wiring and metal parts. The bikes will never be the same.

Yeah it was 28 degrees and very windy here News Years Day. I was tempted, there was quite a few bikes out. the roads were all but dry but heavy with the salt and sand. I have a buddy that did that one year and it took him 6 months to get the chrome close to being right.

I am more downrange of Lake Michigan and here in South Bend we got over 32 inches of snow since 2 AM Saturday morning. Been blowing and shoveling most of the day, winter sucks!

On the bright side my new F150 ROCKS in the snow. Smiley

Luckily we didn't get the additional 6 inches they were calling for last night. My daughter lives in Goshen and works in Bristol, was glad to hear you guys didn't get as much snow. Smiley

KW, what you wrote is absolutely true about Fort Wayne, my current home city. My wife and I eat out very often, and it doesn't matter what day of the week or what time we go out, all of the restaurants are usually full.   Undecided

Hey KW we live about 70 miles N.W. of Ft. Wayne. 3 miles from the Michigan line. now with just the wife and me at home it's almost cheaper to eat out! Ft. Wayne is a great place, much larger than Bristol we only have 2 stop lights in town!

Hoosiervalk, when we ‘ride’ down to the Fort, we take US-66 straight down through Sturgis and into Indiana. There's nice little leather shop right before the boarder and a great ice cream shop not too far into Indian. I can’t think of the little town right now. It’s only about 3 blocks, east, off the highway though. Also, we found a good little ‘mom & pop’ restaurant in Granger. Then there are all the Amish places. . . . . LOL.  It sounds like you’re close to that route, no? We’ll have to hook up this summer.

Ft. Wayne and New Haven are just outside the lake effects snow area, we don't have much here right now..

As far as restaurants go, Ft. Wayne has many great restaurants, makes me jealous here in New Haven.
Ft. Wayne also has no smoking, makes it nice in the bars.  New Haven is a smoky place in the restaurants and bars, no anti smoking ordinance here.

Oh well, i only have to drive 3 0r 4 miles to Ft. Wayne.

KW: Sturgis is my Hometown and I now live in Ft. Wayne. That ice cream shop you are talking about is in Howe, IN. just across from the square. Right?
Sounds like we have more Northern Indiana Valkers than in the past. Maybe we can get something organized this year.

Rode home from work today with the Joe Rocket mesh jacket and light gloves. Temp was about 72. It's a bit chilly at 6AM though. Maybe 50 this morning. I love AZ this time of year.

Alph,

You have an excellent idea with the trailer. I've thought about that for a while but have no place for a trailer.

All the best,

I know 2 other guys in my area that ride Valks.
