A few members know and have ridden with me and my two boys Heath and Benson. The three of use rode the Blue ridge parkway ride, Benson and I started on the Blue Gray ride and again the three of use rode the Whisky ride this year. As Big Al will recall Benson was mesmerized by a bicyclist on the Blue Ridge ride.
Benson passed away yesterday after complications from having a defibrillator placed in his chest. Benson was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in October, and told that he would need a heart transplant. He was sent home after 5 days and put on meds. He was again in hospital in November for high potassium and swelling due to fluid leaking from his legs. On December 23 he went to St Mary’s hospital in Huntington WV. His blood pressure was 60-40, his kidneys had shut down and he was in renal failure. After 7 days in ICU and on dialysis, and several medications Benson was transferred to a regular room and was walking a little each day. He was to have the defibrillator put in Friday and go home the today Jan. 9.
Benson had been saved and I know he is now with the lord looking over us all. But it is still a terrible loss to us all. We are not supposed to bury our children. Benson just turned 22 on January 3.

I am so sorry to hear of this loss.  You're right.  I can imagine few things worse than a parent having to bury his child.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

I'm so sorry to hear this,  Benson was a very nice young man, one to be very proud of.
I met all three of you at the whiskey Run, and we all sat out by the pool and talked
I am glad to hear he was saved and is with the lord at this time.
My condolences & prayers to your family.

My heart goes out to you partner.

Nothing can be said to make sense of such a loss.

I wish you peace in the coming days (one at a time).

My heart goes out to you and your family! Words can not express the loss that I know you are feeling. Unfortunately, my wife and I buried a little baby daughter. Even though it was a long time ago, I can tell you that time does dull the pain, but you never forget, and the hurt never totally leaves you!

I hope that the good memories you have of your son Benson will help sustain you during the dark days you are currently facing. As you say, he is now with our Lord, and in a place where pain and suffering does not exist. Someday, we will all be re-united. Until then remember that you owe it to Benson, and the rest of your family to try to live as normal a life as possible. That is what he would surely want for all of you.

You will be in our prayers. angel

I can not find the words to express my sorrow for you and your family. I know that knowing he was a child of God is comforting for you. I  also have a son who is 23 and I can not  even think of what it would be like to lose him or his sister. My thoughts and prayer go out to you.

So sad to hear this ... Sympathy to the family ....Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal....We had pulled in to a overlook on The Blue Ridge Parkway when Big Al was telling me about the good lookin' bicyclist and what happened....I can close my eyes and still see the big grin Benson had on his face as Al told the story....I wish I had some great words to help with what you are dealing with ....I have none.  Cry

No words from me will help.

I am so sorry.

He was a Big Man, and gentle at the same time.

I will miss this young man Greatly.

May the Lord give you peace that he is wrapped in the arms of Love right now, and forever.

As you have said "He knows the Lord."

He will never leave us or forsake us,,,,,,, is a promise he has done made to us.

As a fellow West Virginian, I know how tough it is to grow up there and at the same time, how wonderful W.Va. is.  We suffer your loss with you and ask God to give you and your family comfort during this extremely agonizing time.  As he is with the Lord; the Lord is with you.  Take comfort in knowing your son is now waiting and preparing a place for his family to join him when the time comes.  God bless your family.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I do know how you feel, I lost my daughter five years ago when she was 39. As some have said 'time does dull the pain' but you'll always feel it. I'm sure you have many good memories to help you now.

Words can not express the sorrow I feel for your family at this time.

Take comfort in knowing Benson is with our Lord, where the tank is always full, the weather is always perfect, the cages are made of foam rubber, and the speed limit is whatever you're comfortable with.

Hang in there..

Wow...so sorry to hear this.  I met you guys in KY and rode with you on the way home until you pulled off the highway at your exit in WV.  When I got home, I remember telling my wife about the nice family...dad and 2 sons...that rode home with me part way and how cool it was that you guys had motorcycles to share together.  You have my condolences and know that my thoughts are with you and your family.
