Saw Mike's post and thought I'd offer a different view of things.  This trail is about 15 minutes from my house.  No wonder we're called "The Florida Gators."

We counted 14 total gators in one area.

It is 64 right now.  But we've had (and are about to get, from what I hear) colder weather.  If it gets below 60, the winter jackets come out.

HA!  Grin

I grew up in SW Virginia, and UT and VT were the closest "big" schools.  I still remember the pandemonium that broke out when a certain Mr. Manning was UT's QB.

Up until this year I woulda had a smart reply for you - but those days are gone.  These crazy people don't what to do without their blessed Tebow.  And now Urban, too.   Cry  Hayday is officially over.

people feed them because it's "cute" to see them eat a chicken wing
then they wonder why the toy poodle is gone!

Seems like this could be a real alternative to the high cost of funerals.

I'm just sayin'.

Hey, not a bad idea. Save lumber, little vases, and not use up all the real estate. Hmmm?

Yeah - I think it's safe to say that gator tail is gonna be on the menu for several years to come.

I live 1 1/2 miles south of Silver Springs. I have seen several alligators crossing the road {SR35} searching for water in the dry season. Guess they got run off by the bigger ones! They were from the Springs.
Have also seen monkeys crossing the road to dumpster dive at the motels in the area at night too. There is a large troop of monkeys that inhabit the Silver River rumored to be the descendents of escaped Tarzan movie extras in the 1930's & '40s. Not sure about that one but I am sure the monkeys are still around!

Joe, I believe you are right, Sad at least for a couple of three years. Well, we can always hope. I do like gator jerky if it's done right. Unfortunately, I like any food if it's done right! Wink
