We buried my wife's mother January 5th, 2011.

She was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer in the late summer. She spent a couple of days in our home before being moved to a hospice, where she was able to see all her family, including four grandchildren, celebrate Christmas.  Her funeral was a tribute to her life, her faithfulness to God, and His faithfulness to her.

I had the privilege of making her casket. I couldn't let my father-in-law spend the crazy amount of money that all funeral service providers charge.

Sorry for your loss, that was a great thing to do in making that casket. Looks just a good or better than some I have seen. Truly a nice way to honor her.

I too am sorry for your loss -  that casket is a labor of love and a fine tribute to a good person.

May she rest in peace and may your family find comfort in knowing she was a God-fearing woman.

Sorry for your loss. I know what you’re going thru. I just buried my mother in Dec. just a week short of her 82nd birthday and two weeks before her oldest grandchild got married. Nice job on the casket. I’m sure she is proud of you for doing that for her.

Brother, I feel your family's pain.  I lost Mom a couple of days after Christmas '09 and Dad on 12/19/06.  I think it will be a long time before I enjoy Christmas again.  Btw, that is a beautiful casket you built.  I'm sure your wife's family really appreciates what you've done for them.

I am sorry for the loss of your Mother In Law.... I pray for comfort for the family. I know this is a rough time. That is a fine piece of work on her vessel.

Sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family.

That casket is really beautiful, a true labor of love and honor.  I would like to see more pics and information of it in the making.

Thank you all for your comments and prayers.  I never remembered to grab my camera when I was near it, with so much else on my mind, so there are no photos as I built it.  The photo you see (and some others) was taken by an in-law-in-law and emailed to me in the resolution you see.  If anyone needs construction details, feel free to email me, gryphon-rider@shaw.ca and I'll do my best to provide them.
