... while the crowd of students at the university some how forgot it was a MEMORIAL... and cheered when they should have shut their mouths...

I dont say this often, but Obama did ok in his remarks.  He set the right tone, was a bit long, but otherwise I give him high marks.  He even put a mild slap down on those of his supporters that have spoken out of turn using this tragic event for political gain.

So, Obama, take this because it doesnt come often from me but...  cooldude well done.

I'm not an Obama fan.

He pissed em off a little when he started saying I, Me. BUT on the whole I thought he did well.

I could have done with less clapping.

I thnk Obama hit a homerun.  I think ALL of them did.  The school president should have reminded the folks why they were there to squash the inappropriate cheering, though.

Is it just me, or does Napolitano look like Turtle from Entourage?

I thought the presidents comments were a million times better than Hilary Clintons were while she was overseas.  The problem Obama is going to have now is to have himself and his "people" live up to what he just said!

Sorry I have lost complete confidence in what he says. He has no credibility with me and many others.

Lie to me once shame on you. Lie to me twice shame on you for it is the last lie I will listen to.
I question whether he knows fact from fiction, truth from lie.

It is unfortunate that he and many in his audience always seem to come off as a campaign event rather than a serious situation.

Sums up my feelings about 95% of all politicians, notice I did not say all. I am hoping that one will rise up and become a great leader like some in the past.

I thought his remarks were OK. I think he actually feels bad for all the victims.

I have one question,,,,Why does a sitting president make a huge issue out of a local law enforcement

matter.

That is except for the judge.

But FBI would handle it nicely.

Why.

Well we all know it was for political hay and get you to quit thinking about the current state of affairs.

The unemployment that will not seem to go down. Paychecks going down. The country going down

the crapper because of debt.

But let's all gather around the prez and pat him on the back for doing absolutely nothing.

What a shame and scam.

God Bless the folks of Arizona, for having to endure two fools at once.

The shooter and the prez.

Reckon Eric Holder will let go of the lawsuit against Jan Brewers state after all they have suffered.

Not a chance in Hades.

Again Why.

Well, being that a Congresswoman was shot.  I guess that might make it just a touch more than a local story.  Ya think?

I would expect that during any administration no matter the political party, under similar circumstances a president might end up speaking.

Yea he would like to misdirect us.  Yup I hate 99.999% of the things he does and he stands for, but in this, I was pleasantly surprised.  Esp the fact that he pointedly addressed those on his side making this tragedy into a political opportunity.

I had to turn the channel halfway through his speech to avoid vomiting. He truly lives up to the slogan, "don't let a good tragedy go to waste". I guess the man doesn't know (or care) the difference between a funeral and the DNC convention podium. It was nothing but a PR and election speech and very sad to watch. Unless it was directed to mentally ill persons with guns, it was also a huge waste of time and money since the rest of us can already handle political differences without gunfire. Very sad to see the political pandering at a time of grief for the families involved. Will the President fly out to the next gas station shooting scene or deadly home invasion also? I'm not a professional hater, BTW. Please note I don't make a habit of badmouthing the President, or even mentioning him here at all.

I'd love to agree with you, but frankly I could care less that it was a national politician since there seems to be an implication that they are more important than other citizens, and somehow their lives are more valuable. As a child I suppose I may have believed that, but I can't say the term "public servant" really applies to the folks we send to the beltway any more. They are just doing a job, doing it badly, but with better benefits than those who work harder and are fired when they screw things up. Judging from where they have led our Country, I see no reason to believe they couldn't be replaced as easily as the next "ordinary" person who dies from senseless violence. Those persons may even fit the term "senseless" better.
