There is now a sign up page for the ride to Robber's Cave in Oklahoma.  Come on over and see one of the coolest places in Oklahoma.
There will be more information on the OKValks at the following link: http://www.okvalks.com/
I will visit the Park in the next few weeks and will post information on the visit and plans for the rides in the area as they develop.  Those of you that have indicated on various threads that you are planning to attend, please visit this page and sign up.
This is gonna' be GREAT!

Can't say I'll be there for sure.  Anita is planning a vacation for us to visit San Francisco to celebrate her birthday that week.  If we don't go there, I will definitely be at Robber's Cave.  I'll have the RV so doubt I will need a reservation at the park.  There was plenty of room last time.
I have a friend in New Orleans planning a ride to East Tennessee the next weekend and I would love to make that trip as well.  It has been a couple of years.

I will check with my wife and see what we have going on and maybe we will be able to make this trip.  Budman I still have your chrome saddlebag kick plates all wrapped up for you.  I can either mail them to you or I will try and make this trip and give them to you in person.  I haven't had any success trying to find someone to make a mold of these.  Still looking for someone.

If you are going, you need to get your reservation early because my guess is they will be full at the lodge very soon if not already. They only have like 10-12 rooms and the last word I had was they only had a few rooms left.

In the event they do get full, here are some alternative lodging options in Wilburton, Ok which is 5 miles or so from the park:  http://wilburtonchamber.com/lodging.html

I've never stayed at any of the places in town but just from external looks, the HiWay Inn Express appears to be the nicest of the options.  Prices are definetly cheaper in town as well.

Robbers cave is a state park, so there is camping all over the park(even equestrian, if you would like to bring your horse. Cheesy )

There are a few places to eat in Wilburton, (Pizza Hut, McRonalds, and a few local cafe's) (Excellent Italian food 20 miles away in Krebbs)

Much appreicated just the same however I care nothing about camping. If you want a guarantee on severe stroms with high winds and cloud-to-ground lightning maybe a few tornado warning throwed in all you gotta do is put me in a tent  Shocked

Howdy folks!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am back from an unscheduled month on the road and ready to get cracking on “Dragons to the Cave”.  I’m taking some time off work this month and will ride over there and capture some GPS points and publish them as a ride route for several routes in the area.  I know we will be taking the Talimena Scenic Drive on Saturday, but I have not captured any points along the way yet.   While I am over there I will investigate some dinner options for Friday and Saturday evening that could handle a group like us and post the options as soon as I know them.  I’ll try to get more than one option and let the arrangements sort themselves out among the options.
We have a good group signed up already still looking for more.  Remember this is an “All Bikes Welcome” affair, so jump on your Wing, Valk, Rune, HD, Triumph, or whatever and just ride!
Here’s a link to the signup page and some more information in case you missed it earlier: http://www.okvalks.com .  There are some really great pictures from earlier gatherings at the Cave as well as a link to the signup page.
This is gonna be GREAT!

I finally made it to Robbers Cave and came back with some good information.
The nice folks at the park office gave me a list of companies that cater to groups like ours that visit the park. One of the names on the list has catered for us before. Scott was able to contact her and now thanks to his efforts we are all set for what I'm sure will be a memorable BBQ dinner on Saturday evening. The dinner will be held in the meeting room of the lodge.
Karen and I plan to arrive just before lunchtime on Thursday. We have a reservation for RV Site 21 in the Old Circle Campground. We will have our big blue screen room set up and ready to welcome any visitors!
I have information from the Ranger on duty during our visit about some of his favorite riding routes. I will post them in the lodge for everyone as soon as I get there on Thursday.
That's all for now.
This is gonna be GREAT!  Cool

So,  my better half & I are signed up & ready to ride BUT given the 70% chance of rain tickedoff Friday we are thinking of riding over Saturday morning.  What is the plan for Saturday besides dinner that evening?

If the weather holds out, I plan on going for a ride starting around 9am.  We'll probably head over to the Talimena Scenic Drive.  If all goes well, should be back at Robbers Cave around 3-4pm.

Hope you can join us!

We're all settled in in spot 21 on the Old Circle RV area. WX is perfect, now. Winds were really high all the way from OKC. Beautiful evening though.
Tomorrow could be rainy, but Saturday is looking great.
I expect the low to sweep north of us and mostly bring a lot of rain to the Tulsa area.
Yeah, yeah, I know, every pilot thinks he's a weatherman. (Occupational hazard I guess.)
I'll try to meet a many folks at check in as possible.
Ride safe! Cool
