Need to change out hydraulic (brakes, clutch) fluids, rear drive oil on my I/S. I'll have my son's tourer up here and may bring it over after mine is back together.

I've got most of the tools necessary for routine mechanical and electrical maintenance. I have a lift (and the lift attachment), mini-vac, torque wrench, air compressor, single bike trailer, etc.
I've got a couple of seats I've collected that anyone is welcome to take for a test ride. One is a complete Corbin set for an Interstate, the other is a hardly used Ultimate Bigboy (driver only).
I'll be replacing the vacuum lines and installing the gas line quick line disconnect.

This Black Tourer really doesn't want to run much. It is misfiring, dies when it is "blipped" unless the choke is on, etc. May have to bring it down (IF it will make it) to the wrench party instead of my I/S just to get the "expert" opinions on what this thing needs. I am really quite upset my son has let this bike get to this condition. I may not give it back!

So what is the protocol to get the password and secret decoder ring to find out where this event is located? Not sure if I can be there but would love to, if the exam schedule allows. I'm up to my elbows (well maybe not elbows) in ob/gyn this semester. L

It is misfiring, dies when it is "blipped" unless the choke is on, etc. Sounds like she's running too lean. Are you sure there are no vacuum leaks? Check the hoses and make sure mice haven't chewed them or any of them are loose, cracked or missing. Maybe an intake plug rotted or missing. She could just be gummed up from sitting. I don't know if this is possible but see if you can pull the crankcase breather hose off of the case, shove a funnel into the hose, and with the engine running, blast some Deep Creep* or Berryman's through the funnel directly into the airbox. Try to keep the RPM's up around 2000 for at least a few seconds and then let her stall and rest for about 30 minutes. She'll sputter and smoke when started but it may clean enough of the goo out for her to run better. *Spray Seafoam

Already has a can of Seafoam in it with about 2 gal of gas. You can SMELL the seafoam! Will check the airbox and the vacuum hoses - thanks. Probably a rat's nest in there somewhere......

I may be out guys.
My Valk would not start Thursday morning, I threw the trickle charger on and jumped in the cage for work. I ended up working 14 hours yesterday and didn't have a chance to check her out last night. She wouldn't start for work this morning either. My six month old battery may be dead; hopefully I will be home early enough to give her a look.

Dave, I just spoke to Carman Allen (Cowboy), and he will be joining us at the wrench party. I am picking him up tomorrow at 9AM at his home and we are meeting T.J. at the McDonalds on Hwy. 377 in Benbrook just south of I-820W at 9:30AM. Anyone from the west side that wants to ride with us please let me know (post here) so that we can be on the lookout for you. Here is a link to the McDonalds that we will be meeting at. http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMGP_Highway_377_McDonalds_In_Benbrook_Texas

From the way it looks, I have a choice. Either I can come by and meet some great people and maybe work on Wall-E, OR I can do some serious riding with Mama. This will be the first time Lisa wants to ride and just cruise. We plan on riding out to Lake Tawakoni and visit my cousin, then and see some other sites around the lake. What do ya think?? Well I might come by for a few minutes and introduce myself and Lisa, THEN I can ride. WOW!! That was an easy decision. See ya'll tomorrow. If anyone wants to ride also, your more than welcome. What a great, beautiful day to be outside and in the company of fine fellows such as the DFW VRCC!
Many thanks to spread around. First, Dave and Nora for hosting in their beautiful home. Dave was all set up in his man cave for all of us with coffee, a coffee grinder, bagels, croissants and other goodies for breakfast with iced down water, colas and Heineken in the cooler.
As the day progressed, Nora brought out a banquet including taquitos, rice, chicken wings, meatballs, chicken spaghetti and my favorite, bacon wrapped jalapeƱo poppers. There was so much to eat and it was all so good. Thanks to both of you for being wonderful hosts.
TJ brought in a case of Dublin DR Pepper and it went into the cooler with everything else. Man, that was good. Thanks, TJ.
My I/S needed it's hydraulic fluids changed. Paul kicked in and brought a syringe and clear tubing and we (mostly Paul) changed out the brake lines and the clutch lines with clean, new fluid. Thanks so much, Paul. Paul then drained out Walt's (StormRider) lines the same way on his I/S.
I took my I/S home and brought back my son's Tourer. The Seafoam finally started to clear the carbs as I was riding back to Mansfield so by the time I got there, it was running about 90% normal. However, I had no rear brake. Paul really needed to go home but instead helped me to get the rear brake working by pulling out all the air and bad fluid in the lines. So nice to ride with brakes all the way around and thank you again, Paul, for the great work on all the bikes.
Randy helped me re-attach the transmission chrome cover with his allen wrench again and it was a two man job, so another thanks to ThagAndy. Sorry I kept him so long, Liz.
After 7 hours of great hospitality by our hosts, I left with the North Dallas contingent and headed back to the casa with a 90% good running bike and solid brakes all around.
I have a SWR meter with the proper cables for the Valk and I'm going to put them in the traveling tool kit so that anyone with a CB can tune their antenna. Don't know why I didn't think of this before. So next wrench party, cb radio tuning is in vogue.
Met a new friend today, Walt who was on Wall-E. Saw people I had not seen in a long time (Paul, Gary, Carmen, Victor) and some I've seen recently (JC, Chuck, Jim, TJ, multiple Daves). When you yell "Dave" at our gatherings you sure do get a lot of answers.
I had a great day and again, so many thanks to so many people for all their help and support.
Mark aka RainMaker

Thanks Dave and Nora for hosting this party . Good to see everybody again and meet a few new valkaholics. I know Nora and Thagandy took some pictures!! Calling Hayhauler, where's your picture post? Thirteen bikes I think, woohoo and almost all got a little TLC. Yes I agree almost to nice a day to not ride, all the great food made by Nora made up for not riding all day ! There where a lotta bikes out today on my 200+ miles round trip. More bikes that I have seen in a loong time.
