In my younger day's we was partying up on Norris Lake ( Point 19 ). I came out the gravel road about 2:00 in the morning and was lettin' the Yamaha XS1100 roll when a huge owl hit me in the chest it almost knocked me and my former wife off the bike  Sad   I stopped in the road and got my wind back that thing left a big bruise across my chest that hurt for weeks.

Wow. I hit a chickadee or somesuch once. I saw him coming in on an intercept course with me, he bounced off
the front side of my mirror and over my head. I don't want to take an owl in the chest.

Not a bird but...

I was glad I was on a heavy bike when I hit two mule bucks at once at 70, 06-15-01.  The bike killed both of them, knocked their horns off, while they knocked the bike on it's side and I bailed.  No helmet, no jacket on a hot day.  I was lucky to have only a broken leg, torn ACL, damaged rotator cuff and lots of road rash.  The bike was reparable.  I rode it 3 weeks later to InZane in Ohio.  The key was - the deer barely hit me - and what did broke my leg.  The bike took the brunt of the hit.  Still riding the same bike.

Back in highschool a buddy of mine was riding bitch on my 71 650 yamaha.  Doing about 60 mph when a phesant flew out of the brush on the side of the road.  I ducked, and the bird hit Rick square in the face.  Broke his glasses, and thanks to the sissy bar he stayed on the bike.  Killed the bird, Rick was ok.

I hit a bat one time. Also hit a Monte Carlo. If I had my choice, I'd
much rather hit a bat. cooldude

I surprised a vulture coming around a corner on my first bike, a Honda 360, when I was seventeen. It flew up right in front of me, sheared off an aftermarket windshield and both the bird and the plastic hit me in the chest and almost knocked me off the bike. I am still a little paranoid decades later, and tend to honk more than I should if I see them on the road ahead of me.

Hit 2 sparrows once. 1 with my mirror and the other with the shield. Flexed the shield inward more then I expected. We ducked last year as we about hit a peacock in SD.

I've hit a couple of birds and once hit a horse.  I don't recommend the latter.  NOT good.

Just this past fall, I got whacked in the knee cap by a palmetto bug (basically a huge flying cockroach) doing about 70.  That one stung for a while.

I keep trying to flatten squirrels, but dang those suckers are fast!

I think it's hysterical that the added weight of a helmet probably would have broken her neck.  It takes all types... uglystupid2 crazy2

Like Joe, early one morning I hit a owl on a RE-5 Suzuki and it snapped the windshield off hitting me in the chest and got a face full of bird back in the day.

Hit a , couple of possum, a raccoon, one dog, deer, and a couple of birds on the Valk. Broke three bones when I hit the deer but the Valks still running! I commute 40+ miles one way out here in the sticks. Put an electron deer alarm on the Valk and haven't hit any critters the past year or so...
