I'm heading to Austin Thursday, anyone know a good route from the east side of the metromess?
I've been down 281 but was looking for something closer that avoided the superslab.

281 is an old fav via the Koffee Kup, but you could get to it via Kaufman and Ennis. You could sneak in from the southeast via 45. Take 14 south of Corsicana to 190 to 16 south to Hearn, 79 west to 95 south. Runs right into 290 east of Austin, just east of the fair grounds a few miles.

Any way is better than 35 these days. Too much time lost in construction zones. ~Jeff
