Here is my problem: I ride and garage my Valk in Florida, where I live winters. In the summer I live in CT where I ride and garage my H-D and a classic BMW.

I have been thinking seriously of going to Inzane since I started frequenting this board, and started reading of the good times had there by all.  cooldude

Alright, I'll get to the point. It seems stupid to fly to Florida, get on my Valk and ride all the way to Inzane by myself, only to turn around, ride back to Florida, and then fly back to New England. crazy2

On the other hand, it seems just as crazy to me to ride my H-D to Michigan to what is baiscally a Honda event. The fact that it seems many Valk riders are ready to crucify any and all things H-D does not make me feel any better about doing that. I don't need to ride all that way to only feel like an outsider. It will be tough enough meeting many of you for the first time without doing it on my H-D  and having a big strike against me.  Embarrassed

So, that's it! Let me get some feedback. Have others ridden none Honda bikes, especially H-D to Inzanes in the past? How was that received? Undecided

You could have your Valk shipped to my house from Florida, about $600 or so. Ride the H-D to MI and pick up the Valk. Ride the Valk to INZANE. I am south of Detroit, about 250 miles from INZANE.

Ride the HD to Florida, get the Valk, ride back to Michigan for Inzane Cheesy

AND...take the long way round!

(not crazy at all!)

I appreciate the offer. I'd still have to fly to Florida to get the bike shipped. Plus get the Balk back down there. It's not just a lot of money, but a time issue. I'm still a working man! Sad

I love that suggestion Daniel. I could even stop to see you in Texas on my way going coast-to-coast-to-coast-coast (not kidding - that's my "dream ride", but sadly don't have the time yet).

I do believe that the VRCC members are a friendly enough bunch to not look down their nose at me on my H-D, so that is probably the better solution, at least for this Inzane. Can you bring guests to Inzane?

Yes.

It depends.  Most Valkyrie riders won't care what you ride.  You may get an occasional remark depending a lot on how you choose to present yourself.  If you've got good skin and are there to have a good time you'll have a good time.  If you show up with a chip on your shoulder, things will go downhill from there.

I met a friend at InZane X who rode his H-D to the gathering.  Commented that he'd not actually ridden a Valkyrie.  I gave him the keys to my Interstate and my wife's Standard.  He went for two rides while we worked.

Come to have a good time with VRCC people and you'll have a good time.

In my experience, the kidding and ribbing goes both ways and is ALL intended as just good nature fun. And, I’ve never been serious when I pointed out the many, many, many flaws of owning and riding (or pushing) a Harley.

I thank you guys for all the replys. Some may be tongue in cheek, but I get the feeling that attending is more inportant than what I ride. I really did not expect different than that. In the around 6 months I've been coming to this board, I have the feeling (and have said so) that this is a fine group of people. So, I may come riding either one of the below two.

Either way, I'll enjoy the ride and the people I will meet. Smiley

Dont forget to start posting on the New England board when you plan to be riding out and you should be able to get some nice folks to ride with.  There may be a rocket, an ultra or dyno/ a connie and some sidecar rigs that decide to come with you besides Valks

Ride the Harley. I have both as do many who post on here, I have rode my harley to several Valk events and feel comfortable in the group. I've gotton a few little "rubs" about the harley, but all in good fun. Every event I've ridden to there has been more than just me on a valk.

Here is a picture of the last CBR event in 2009. you can see 2 harleys in a sea of valks, there were more than that there.

Last couple of INZANES I attended I rode Kaws, a ZX14 and a Concours 14.  Bring what you want, it doesnt matter.   Its the people and the event that counts.  You may catch some good natured ribbing, but it will all be in fun.  Lots of us own other bikes, and some dont ride anymore.  I may try to make it this year, but dont have a clue what I will ride.  Mebby a Can AM if my intrest goes that way, but mebby I will bring one of the Valks if the raw excitement of the Kaws doesnt get to me again.

Um, if you're in Florida now, why don't you ride it to CT when you go back?
Then you'll have it there for the summer.
Then ride it back to Florida next time you go back there.

Barring that, you'll be welcome whatever you ride.

Carl, I'm pretty sure that's blue, not purple!

I agree with the others, ride what you want.  But the real solution is so simple.  It's about 6 months until Inzane so there is plenty of time to buy a Valk for your place up north.  There are several for sale at this time.  And you still have that rare asset, a JOB.   2funny  My vote: blue.

All right Willow! Now you've crossed a line. You can poke fun at my Harley, but jeez man, it's Cobalt Blue, not Purple. What kind of guy do you think I am anyway?  Shocked

Seriously, thanks to everyone that posted. I am going to be as comfortable there with my Harley as I am riding with my HD buds while I am on the Valk. I just wanted to make sure that it was not a closed event. So it was a serious post on my part. Smiley

Now there is a difference for you. If you rode a Valk to a H-D National rallye I'm not sure they would let you in. Seriously! As a guest, maybe. Embarrassed
