Any current update on alternate suggested motels? The Safari had always been a good stay but I believe is also full up.

I know in the past the Blue Swallow, if rooms were available, usually required a full weekend commit.

I am still trying to work on my schedule so days are sketchy.

Any suggested alt motels would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

Gary,
There is always the Pow Wow down the road, I've stayed there before, plus they have a restaurant.
Steve
I believe the Blue Swallow might have 1 room available.

The Safari was full when we went through last August on the way home from the Iron Butt ride to Deadwood, but one of the places they referred us to was the Historic Route 66 Motel on the far east end.  It was fine.

I stayed at the Route 66 Motel during last year's BBQ.  It's a few blocks east of the Swallow.  I highly recommend it.  It was built in the '60s, but the beds and carpet are nearly new and the place is spotless.  The owners really take care of you, too.  When I made my reservation, Cathy asked when I'd be arriving so she could start the air conditioner ahead of time.  There were old towels on the dresser for my bike.  And the price is a bargain:  I stayed three nights and the total, including tax, was less than $100.

This was taken at the BBQ 3 years ago.  Had to be careful I didn't get on the wrong bike.
