The V-6 Horex is a Go.

With the estimated price around $25,000.00 it's not looking good for me to have one.Is it just me or does anyone else think it looks like a ST1300 Honda  Undecided

Honda ST1300

BMW has unveiled today the new K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL. motorcycles that come with a supreme, impressive and equally distinctive appearance, creating a desire to travel at first sight.

The two models are powered by a new 6-cylinder in-line engine that develops a total of 160 HP and a maximum torque of 175 NM. The rider of the K 1600 models has three different engine characteristics directly available at the press of a button at the right-hand end of the handlebars so as to be able to adapt to different uses such as touring on the road, riding on wet surfaces and sporty, dynamic motorcycling - the modes "Rain", "Road" and "Dynamic".

The K 1600 GT is has a very extensive range of standard features ex works consisting of xenon headlamps, heated grips and seat, cruise control and on-board computer. In the K 1600 GT, the body colours of Light Grey metallic and Vermilion Red metallic create a fascinating contrast with the frame and wheels in Ostra Grey and the engine in Platinum metallic matte.

I had hoped to see the BMW K 1600 GT at this year's International Motorcycle Show, but BMW only participates in "selected markets," and Chicago isn't one of them.  It's nice to see other manufacturers keeping the 6-cylinder motorcycle engine alive, even if in V or inline form.  Once in a while, I fantasize that Honda increases the GW engine to 2000 ccs. (which may already be in the works), then says, " oh what the h**l," removes all the Tupperware and releases a current version of the Valk.  Then I snap back to reality  Sad  I'm just happy to have the previous version in my garage; still the best cruiser ever made.

I'll bet that is a very nice, fast, motorcycle. I'm sure BMW got it right. Very nice....but for 25K...nope. Paid $8500 cash moo-lah for my '98 standard with bags, new tires, a Mustang seat set and a shield in 2000. However, I might just trade even for the BMW  Grin

I've had my '99 I/S since the 13th of November of 2010.  Not long at all.  I got her for what I thought was a fair price.  Wall-E, I know, will last me for years to come with proper maintenance.  I wonder what I could buy for my Valk with $25K.  I could probably have the bike rebuilt from the ground up, chrome it out, custom paint and a few other things.  I might have a few dollors left over.  BMW is known for its reliability.  I have no doubt of a Beemer's reputation.  But it still looks like a sport tour bike that everyone else has.  I believe that the Valkyrie is a one of a kind bike.  I did a lot of research on the Valk before I could afford to buy one.  The only other bike I might consider to look at would be if Honda were to develop a Valk with the 1800.  Your right about one thing, it looks more like the ST.  But not everyone is comfy on a sport tour.  Looks great though.

For only 26,900$ you can get a comparable Goldwing.

For only 22,900 you can get a Ultra Classic Harley.

BMW K1600GT for 23,000 and the GTL for 26,000$

2001 Interstate was about 15,000$

SO I think the BMW is comaparable in price and with lots more Horses under the Bonnet.

47 city and 50 hwy and 160hp is a winner.
