Michigan...Home of InZane X -XI

Oscoda, Michigan

« on: January 23, 2011, 02:41:16 PM »

Took off for a little vacation...Friday was smooth sailing....

The farther north the more snow we saw...

The lakes looked cold...

Mackinaw City was almost empty

The Bridge looked great...

No problems crossing over...

Had a great day traveling up and went to the Village Inn had my White fish dinner and Devl and I went to the bar to have a few and listen to a band...(I got a little hammered the bar lady must have remembered how I like my drinks)
anyway...we woke up this morning to "light show showers" as you can see from our window

We decided what the heck...lets go to Java Joes so Devl can get her crepes...yummmmm

can you say white out...

had a great breakfast and we decided to head out and see were we end up ....well

the roads were getting worse the temp was falling we got on I-75 turned onto M-123

got as far as Moran and said nope going back...

Turn that beast around and headed home...
Can you say wooooh....almost got taken out on I-75 by a crazy truckdriver ...he started around me then just decided to take my lane...

anyway the roads didn't get any better all the way home...
but the scenery was great...

I've never seen the Bridge this snowy and the lake ice was beautiful...

we did have a great time...thanks Devl for getting out for this weekend...
just a few more pic's

That lift in the left side of the picture.   What brand of lift is that and how wide is it?

That looks like the one I lost a few years ago in my garage fire.

Love the snow sites up in that area.   Great pictures Brother.

Hi RJ...the lift is a Direct-Lift  Pro Cycle  93" long and 48" wide ..it has two 12" removable sides... I've had it for several years now and its saved alot of bending over back pain...

yeah a little windy maybe 30mph crosswinds...I've been over it in May on the bike once we had 50mph crosswinds with sleet that was a trip...the bridge escort driver pulled in front of me and two buddies ...his partner put his hand to his head like a gun and pulled the trigger I guess he thought we were a little crazy...went over it another time in summer the wind was blowing so hard it was whip up sand from the shoreline and carrying it up and over the Bridge it was like getting hit with a sand blaster...a guy in front of me stopped his bike he was scared bad and froze it was all I could do to pull up to him and tell him if he didn't get that little sportster going I was going to throw them both off over the rail...he looked at me stunned but he took right off....
