Turn your Feb. Ride into a ride to Austin and on to Dripping Springs for the MidWinter Gathering.

April 1-3 is the GOTF (gatherin' o the fools) at HotGlue and Flamingo Babe's place.

Two that shouldn't be missed if you can help it.

Hope to get to ride with y'all at one or both of these!!

I would recommend the Meer's Store run in June and the Midnight Ride in July or August when it's really, really too hot for a day ride.  First, I have to check the lunar calendars to see which night has no moon (no moon means the stars will really shine when we stop in the middle of nowhere to stare at them), publish that date and then let everyone tell me that I have the wrong lunar calendar  Grin.  Next, it should be at a dry time of year so that the rain that will appear from nowhere will be of great benefit.

Some other ideas of where to ride:

Westside - Palo Pinto Cafe/State Highway 4 - see the windmill farm, ride past the scout ranch on a really twisty route.  Palo Pinto Cafe has very large Chicken Fried Steaks.

Westside - Mary's Cafe in Strawn - yeah, more Chicken Fried Steak.

Westside - Koffee Kup Cafe in Hico.  It's a Pie Run down 51, which is a good twisty road once you get to it.

I like the other ideas a lot.  I will also volunteer to lead some rides this year, which I did not do in 2010.  With no ride coordinator, we need to have people lead rides to destinations they like.

what date and time in the stockyards? wasn't clear, we should be able to come to that, if ya'll can stand the loud pipes!I know, lots of you have not had the priviledge of riding behind us! OK>OK< we'll ride in the back!
Make sure you know about parking in the stockyards, the corral has been shut down, and THEY WILL GIVE YOU A TICkiT for parking in front of riskeys, or any other place,AFTER YOU PARK,THEY WILL WATCH YOU PARK, THEN come over and write u up! don't leave stuff on your bike either, lock it up or leave it at home! \\
may 28th is good for us, will talk more later , hope everyone will come!  cooldude

Awesome stuff Chris.

Where in Grapevine?

Gonna to make it to Dave Sheldon's wrench this Saturday in Mansfield?

I can offer my place for a wrench party in any month. Prefer a warmer month so I can do a cookout while y'all are wrenching, but any month needing a central location will work. I have grilled in the snow before.

Was at Disco Frisco's place a short while today. I mentioned a picnic ride for one of our monthly rides/meeting. The couple I went one way back when were very well attended. I have a trailer I can tow with either the Valk or the Wing for ice chest, small grills, not so large women. (er, strike that last). Will discuss further either this weekend or over that cigar & scotch.
